does that count if it's only via the internets in self-referential irony and not in AUDIO OH OH?

As long as you don't think it's cool then it's all good in the hood. Bodacious!
WORD!

ah, phew.
EAT MY SHORTS!
I get told that I say the word 'cool' too much. Not in the sense that I think everythings cool, but when I'm agreeing to something.

I say awesome alot.
Yeah same. Pretty much everything is either cool, sick or awesome to me.

How about that Orange advert with Mac Culkin in it...INSANE!

The benchmark for au courant fashionableness has spoken. You truly are the Florence Nightingale of urban chic, man. Thank you for keeping your ear to the street for us.

LOL IS ONLY ACCEPTABLE WHEN YOU ARE USING IT IRONICALLY IDIOTICALLY. DON'T REALLY USE IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

I don't like to be referred to as "boss" by strangers.
Definitely don't like being called a pimp.
hpdrifter
03-07-2008, 02:59 PM
But "boss" has got to better than "sir". As soon as people start calling me "ma'am" I am going to crawl into a hole and die.

How about
"boy"
said with the southern bully cop twang.
Yetra Flam
03-07-2008, 03:02 PM
it's a pretty good idea to not refer to anyone as 'boy' ever.
abcdefz
03-07-2008, 03:03 PM
I don't mind "sir" at all. But then again, I use it way more than I hear it.
But I've used "sir" casually probably ever since high school, even with peers.
I think it's just how you say it. If you say it one way, it means "old man." Say it a different way, and it means "guy I respect."

I used to work with this guy who called everybody, including other guys, "baby". Not in an Austin Powers kinda way, though.

Wow. I can't picture this being anything but awkward? Was he even comfortable with it? How?
mickill
03-07-2008, 05:28 PM
He'd just be like, "Yeah baby" (again, not like Austin Powers or anything) or "Right on, baby". If he didn't have such a deep voice it would probably have sounded more awkward. You kinda have to have a certain amount of bravado and confidence to refer to people as "baby".
