that another very good friend of mine had passed away last night.

When I say friend, it really means brother. A Port Clintoner.

We are a small town of fishermen with a great taste in music and likings. We, the friendship have suffered as much as the other, be it hardship that we've lived through in the midst of our parent's agony of extreme drug addiction or development of insanity from being in Nam.

We all know each other. Played, ran, skated, cried, offered our open door in the times if need. We have all been through extreme shit together. WITH A SHOVEL.

Needless to say, the shovel has never been big enough to undig ourselves from yhe extreme pile of shit that had been layer upon us.

Our combined friendship has been our shovel.

Let me just try to get my head and Ill explain. I just found this out earlier and I'm making phone calls and still trying to make this real.

he's been taking methadone. Yeah, I probably spelled it wrong but, it's the shit the doctors will prescribe you when you're trying to stray from the needle.

I've never known of him to be a junkie but, I've known of him smoking the baking powder....Roughly.

I dunno how hard he got into it, I've went to the military and left alot of thoughts behind, such as him.

I once took a vacation right after an a.i.t. course and headed home and met up with him at a party.

Eeeeryone wass partying hard, crack here and there but not in my lips. It managed to hit his lips many times and he'd had a history of some bad lungs.

Needless to say, he kept smoking up and coughing till the point blood came out in his coughs.

People didn't pay mind of the blood and continued to pass the pipe and cigs to him.

I got pissed, told them "hey, he's spitting blood for christ's sakes, why you passing him shit?"

They paid no mind to my gripe and kept passing him shit.

I threw a beer bottle right in the middle of them and said, "fuck it, kill him then"

I walked out and that was the last time I saw him. I was only on a break from the military, I had to do other things..

My friend calls me and tells me what's up.

He says he and his girlfriend got into an argument which led to him overdosing. I guess he had something to prove to her..

I'm pissed and even more fucking pissed. At him.

Well, too late for the no alcohol and lack if skeep thing..

First thing I did was crack a beer open when I got home after hearing this.

Why? Cause I'm catching up with him in the times when we'd be hanging together on a Friday.

Oh no, I'm not "drowning my sorrows", pah, ya put it that way, you're actually drowning the good times.

Yeah, I'm fine. Everything moves on. Gotta quote it once and a while, eh?

it's odd how my friend and I both explained ourselves as feeling relieved.

I mean, this guy was on a crash course and completely wreckless. You start to feel tired of worrying about someone for so long, after they've been told numerous times to slow it down a bit.

I understand the feeling relieved. Its natural, there's nothing wrong with it.
