It's definitely a solid game, I've played for hours now and haven't even scratched the surface. I really want to unlock Snake so I can go a few rounds as him. Anyone want to do friend codes? My info....

Anyway, I actually played it for about 20 minutes and was bored.
My son seems stoked though. The line of kids that have been parading in & out of my house today to play it seem excited as well.

It's a cool parent who buys 'the' game for their kid. (y) Looking at that list, I can't imagine somebody trading in Galaxy. Proving Ground, for sure. I got that for Christmas and I'm tempted to just chuck it anyways.

We brought MP3, THPG, and Tiger Woods with us to the store.
My son chose to keep THPG because he's a Bam fan.

I shouldn't have even posted in this thread.
I barely play video games anymore. I'm the wrong person to comment on such things.

also, i bought this game. its good. i'm quite glad they included melee levels (i.e. hyrule).
I find the online play really laggy. Is it just me?

Lots of people complained it was laggy. Australia still doesn't have a release date for this, yet Mario Kart is scheduled for April 23.

*everyone holds their breath*
ill let you know how it goes.

You can hardly ever find anyone online doing a random search for opponents (this can't be from lack of people playing it, most likely a bandwith issue) and when your playing a friend it's laggy and just a plain mess. I'm really disappointed so far.

I haven't even messed with online since I played with Deep Sea but it doesn't look like it's getting any better.

So, my copy of this does not work.
It says it can't read the disk 99 out of 100 times I try to play it.
Seriously, I tried taking the disk in and out for half an hour last
night before I got it to work.I tried to play it earlier today and it's
just not worth the trouble.
I guess it's just strange because I have been buying Nintendo games for 24
years and have never heard of one just not working brand new. I suppose
they already sold all the working copies.
The problem most people are having with Brawl, physically anyway, is that the disc is Dual Layer and some Wii's are having trouble reading them. Putting the Wii on it's flatter side might work better for you. Otherwise I hadn't looked up anything Nintendo is doing about it (I never had the problem) but apparently they are blaming it on "dirty disc lasers" due to... well... dust that occurs naturally and is not a direct result of the consumer. So good for them for passing the buck.
The online is pretty bad. Like bad as in I didn't even want to go through the trouble of handing out my friend code here.

Launch systems seem to be getting hit harder by the disc read error problem.

I got a launch system and thankfully I've never had trouble reading any of my discs....
I remember the Disk Error being a problem with quite a few people when it first came out but it was mainly in Japan for some reason.

that's crazy that the release date is so much later there.
i kinda wish it was that way in the states, though. i got kart so soon after brawl that i haven't really even played much brawl yet.
it seems like nintendo kind of shot themselves in the foot by releasing those two so close to one another (granted, i did get brawl a little late).
it's actually funny that you bumped this thread because i've been meaning to dust off brawl lately.
