...he admitted it to aids? What an idiot.

From CNN: (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/10/spitzer.ap/index.html)

NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Times is reporting that New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has told senior advisers that he had been involved
in a prostitution ring.

New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has admitted involvement in a prostitution ring, The New York Times reports.

On its Web site, the newspaper cites an anonymous administration official as the source and says Spitzer was meeting with his
top aides.

Spitzer officials wouldn't immediately comment on the story to The Associated Press. An announcement was scheduled for
2:15 p.m. at his Manhattan office.

DO as they say, not as they DO

What a crack...married with children, in a powerful position, well to do and goes and fucks it up.

It's funny, I see this at a college I work with, people with PhD's fucking up....people never grow up and learn how to handle themselves no matter how high up they are.

Politicians should know by now that deviant sex is a the worst crime to commit in office.

It's a shame. I really rather like Spitzer and have watched his career up through the ranks with interest. It's very disappointing to see him throw it away on something so very, very stupid. Personally I have no major moral issue with the fact of hiring a prostitute; I'm quite in favour of legalised prostitution and as far as his family goes, it is between him and his wife to decide if their marriage can stand it. But the fact is, regardless of how I or anyone else feels about the fact that what he did was illegal, what he did was illegal, and he is the bloody Governor of the State of New York and the former State's Attorney General and you just can't fucking do this kind of stupid shit.

Really too bad though. He still had a lot to offer.

It's unfortunate that his fight against corruption didn't extend to his own pants. Spitzer, we hardly knew ye.

Apparently the job really wasn't that important to him.

The bigger the moral crusader, the bigger the fall. Must of been a gambler at heart because that is some "high risk" activity for even the average married guy.

Spitzer couldn't keep his Spitzer inside his trousers.

i also see no big deal with prostitution. if someone wants to fuck someone else, and they say its okay, then why should anyone give a shit. and if you are in a relationship, and you agree that it is okay to step beyond the bounds/bonds of the church, then good for you for being open-minded and not so possessive. i dont understand how anyone can be satisfied sexually by fucking the same person for the rest of their life lol, but then again, im a man, and anchor man. i built the eiffel tower out of steel and brawn.

regardless, i think it was a set up. i dont know this guy, but i know how this shit goes down. sexlife is the biggest taboo in politics, because it has been so thoroughly engrained in our subconscious that sex with multiple partners is immoral. i am willing to bet that he was set up, especially if he was on some type of crusade or whatever. it was his turn to fall, so they knocked him over.

i dont know. i wasnt really suggesting that i know anything about this case at all. i just get the feeling when this sort of thing happens to a politician, that there is motivation behind it. so many politicians are involved in sex, or drug, or maffia rings. and many privvy people know about it, and they use it to their benefit. when that person falls out of favor, they got it all documented and they are ready to bring them down.

i just wouldnt be surpised:) politics is twisted!!!

i guess if you really wanted to pursue that possibility, you would first ask who has he screwed over in the recent past. you have to figure it would take some time to set up the wiretapping and all that, so figure that the screw over couldnt have happened and sooner than 6 months back. so look at his record, his public comments, and shifts in his policy. and if there are some, look into who was affected. if it was big business, or a politician you have a motive and a suspect.
and if there is anyway to prove their link to the investigation, which i am a little clueless on, and might be impossible, then you have proof.
im not going to bother with it though, if that is what you are asking!

Prosecutors say the ring provided prostitutes costing as much as $3,100 an hour.

Even at sixteen years of age I couldn't produce enough semen in an hour to make this remotely cost-effective. Mr. Spitzer, what were you thinking? Here are some photos of the girls, was it one of them (http://gawker.com/366075/did-one-of-these-ladies-take-down-the-governor)?

Alien Autopsy has the uncanny ability to frighten and amuse me at the same time.

There's a reason scandal follows politicians, and that's because there is power involved and wherever power is, scandal and corruption follow. No conspiracy theories needed.

The thing is, even if that is true and he is being exposed by people with an axe to grind, he should have been a lot fucking smarter and kept himself miles away. Like I said, I don't really care personally that if he uses the services of a prostitute, but by god if you've made your career by going after organised crime and rooting out corruption and scandal, then you've got to have the fucking sense to keep your own nose clean.

Is Joe Shaking in His Wingtips Today?

Though we haven't been hearing about it as much lately, it turns out the heat is not off Joe Bruno. The FBI has been investigating the State Senate majority leader's outside business interests for nearly two years now, and today we learn that they've widened their inquiry. Several subpoenas were issued to pension funds linked to unions in Bruno's Albany-area district last week. Six local unions have many millions invested with a Connecticut firm, Wright Investors' Service, which employs Bruno for services that they have yet to explain to authorities. The connections were revealed in December by the Times, after which Bruno and the firm quickly severed their relationship. But the FBI's inquiry into union records show that Bruno is far from being off the hook.

The Daily News' Elizabeth Benjamin also reports that the probe is going to weaken the union's traditional support of the powerful state senator. Despite public support for Bruno, one labor leader told Benjamin, "The conventional strategy of many building trades and public sector unions is about to end… They've made their bets on Bruno, but it's all unraveling." As the State Senate heads into a battle for control this fall, this could mean big things. Bruno and the state GOP were also banking on a Giuliani national candidacy to rally New York's Republican base to the voting booths in November. Even though Governor Spitzer has been muzzling himself lately, we're betting that these days behind his hand, he's chucking quietly.

^ notice the new governor didnt speak, sr. bruno spoke for the new administration right before spitzy arrived to resign.

joe bruno is the ny senate majority leader. the lt. governor patterson is a dan quale of nys. he's a legally blind man known as friendly and kind. joe bruno is the boss, he will be calling the shots. the new governor will be kept busy sharpening pencils, ordering stationary, cutting ribbons and smiling a lot.

elliot spitzer tried to take out joe bruno, and with ole joey, a lot of others would fall. his main republican buddies pataki and giulian i might pucker their buttholes a little at this prospect too.

(Spitzer) added, "Our greatest glory consists not in never falling but in rising every time we fall."

Dude -- shut the fuck up. Put some feet to it and maybe in a few years you earn the right to moralize.

^ what's he supposed to say? ^

the drama between spitzer and bruno (http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/archives/2008/03/joe_bruno_hit_b.php)

they've wanted spitzer out from day one (http://www.dailygotham.com/blog/bouldin/eliot_spitzer_is_dangerous)

the squeeky clean new governor of ny (http://nymag.com/news/features/44755/).

from daily gotham:

Every day, it just gets better and better. Now, The Albany Project reports that Joe Bruno was hanging out in a Florida strip club

a) while the legislature was debating sex offender laws, and
b) on the tab of his pal, Jared Abbruzzese, Bruno's ivolvement with whom is currently of interest to the FBI, and
c) at the same time his wife was battling dementia.
read the recent story here (jan 08) (http://www.thealbanyproject.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=212) - surely this is a god-fearing family man.

this is the same bruno who says his 'prayers' go out to spitzer and his family, shutthefuckupjoey

i guess. if his audience is the people who took him out, he's completely entitled to moralize. maybe it was a slip, that's probably one of the things on his mind.

Even if he's thinking it, saying it aloud makes it sound like he got a big fat zero on his humility lesson.
