Word to the wise: don't bother wasting your time at the DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist set.
off-topic slighty, but cut and shadow are coming to my city around april; they doing a show. what's wrong with it?

It's a snooze-fest. I was super excited for the show and was completely let down because the set had no flow or energy whatsoever. It didn't even feel like I was at a live DJ show. It felt like I was listening to some amature internet dork's home produced mashups.
If you like The Hard Sell, then go to the show, but only if you want to hear the album mirrored IDENTICALLY in person. I personally don't understand the point of regurgitating your album track for track, sample for sample in front of a live audience, but whatever. And who knows, they may have changed their set.
Let's just say I wouldn't have paid for the tickets and gotten excited if I had known in advance what that show was going to be all about.

I'm gonna get flamed for this I'm sure but I never get this. Its an oxymoron.

Yes, Seattle. It'd be about a 4 hour drive if the canucks don't hassle me at the border.
*whining* Oooooh. I wanna go. *wringing of hands* but can I afford it? *fidgeting* what should I do?

that's what ya hope for, but it never happens. maybe 1 or 2 songs get changed around for experimental purposes... oh well. i haven't heard the hard sell yet but, i might give a listen before i buy my ticket......IF i decide to buy it, that is.

We never get cool shit like this! Every other act would be worth it. I wanna go, actually. More than likely I will find a way to see NIN when they tour anyway. It's probably the last tour on my must see list.
And yeah, DJ Shadow pretty much dropped the ball on everything in the last few years as much as I'd hate to admit it. It was pretty kickass when they had the "DVD Turntables" that cycled video with the audio so that you could pretty much see the scratching or when they deviate from the mix cds. If I wanted to hear the album sample for sample I would have brought my Zune... I mean iPod.

If by this:
I'm gonna get flamed for this I'm sure but I never get this. Its an oxymoron.
you meant to say a "live DJ" show is an oxymoron...
then yeah, you need to be flamed.
or at least educated:
live DJ 101 (since these are the Beastie's Boards)(lb) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW2e1kGyKcw)
and
live DJ 102 (since this is the Other Music Board)(lb)
save your "that's not live music" argument for french duos playing laptops.
