Inspired by hpdrifter:

Thanks! I never liked it when I was a kid. Always wanted to be Lisa or Stephanie. Its grown on me and despite
being relatively common when I was a kid, I don't meet too many nowadays.

I wanted to be Kyle William. I figured with a name like that, I would turn out to be a golden boy. I used the name in a book I wrote when
I was a kid. Years later, when he was still one of my favorite artists, Bruce Springsteen used the name in a song on Nebraska and
I was thrilled.

I used to write stories as a kid and sometimes I'd give the main characters the names that I wanted; Catalina or Catarina. There was another one, I think it was Alyssa.

tbh i just wanted to have a name i could say properly.

i had a horrid stutter as a kid, and dreaded going to new schools (my dad was in the military - we moved a lot) and having to introduce myself. (cl)aire was really difficult to say for me. it pretty much ruled out most sounds/letters a person with a stammer would struggle with - i tried to edit all these things out of my speech if possible. it didn't leave me much to play with. i had a friend called beth when i was younger, i never once called her home asking to speak to her because her name was almost impossible for me to say under 'pressure'. the person i called the most was named alex : )

so, because of that, i longed for a name like annabel or alex, not out of their prettiness, just out of their general ease.

now i am pretty much sans speech impendiment i would quite fancy going with my original leaning towards morgan, thanks. even if it is mostly considered a man's name. but i sort of like that. regan, too. thought that was nice after i studied king lear, but maybe it sounds a bit posh and horsey.

Woah, I don't think I've ever inspired a thread on the BBMB before. I am touched.

I, too, liked Alyssa but you know mine already.

For whatever reason I had this fixation on the name Seth. (in b4 seth's hair)

I've met a Seth or two since I was little and it sort of dissipated.

Growing up I was obsessed with Different Strokes so I wanted to change my name to Kimberly.

Didn't she eventually drown in a hot tub?

Tia.

I didn't remember why until about 2 weeks ago when I caught 'Escape From Witch Mountain' on tv and looked up the characters on imdb.

Then I realized.
