I hate, hate hate it when bands put the only two good songs they are ever
going to write, right in a row at the very start of an album. Spread that shit
out, man! Make it last a little longer. I know we would like all songs to be
great, but sadly that's not the case.
The perfect pacing isn't easy. For this example i'm going to use vinyl
records. I say start off strong with a good, memorable number and then
move on down the 1st side, blah blah. I could get more detailed but this is
just a broad rant.
Side two should start with the hit single. Ease them in, and then hit them
with it. They'll be all like, "Hey, yeah, this band is pretty cool, man, pretty
decent"... then flip the album and...BAM!, "Fuck Yeah! This band is totally
awesome!" So start off with side two with your best, most rockin n' rollin
song and then move down to a more somber finish, if your into that kinda
thing.
Anyone every think about this shit, or care?
