One of my dogs died last night.

She was hit by a car and died almost instantly. She just turned 1 on Monday. I accidentally left the garage door open and they snuck out.

I feel so bad for her sister. She's never, ever been alone. They've always had each other.

Fuck, it hurts.

2 summers ago I was Dog sitting for a friend (this was one of my Female's pup)
He was an old Rot 11 , and was on Meds for seizures, I showed up in the Am and he'd been having a seizure when I showed up , I had a Broken knee at the time.... and all I wanted to get on the ground and hold him for his last hours.

just writing about this makes me tear up .

Please try not to beat yourself up. I had dogs my whole life and even when you're super careful mistakes can happen in a split second. Our beagle used to do the dumbest stuff when she got out. We were just lucky.

This made me tear up. I had a very young kitten who died in a terrible accident when I was 7, so I can sympathize to the fullest extent.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Just know that she's up in puppy heaven, playing with all the other puppies and sniffing all the butts she could ever hope for. :o

that is so sad-i had almost the exact same thing happen years ago-but to try and put a smile on your face, try and picture me trying to bury a great dane with rigor mortis(really hope that doesn't make you more sad).you have to try to stay positive and know that you gave her the best,happiest life while she was with you.
