At my job, there's been pools of blood in one of the bathrooms. I've seen them, right in front of the toilet. Litlerally pools of kind of a pinkish tint blood on 6 occasions so far.
Our company had the blood tested and it came back being hiv positive. My question is, where is he bleeding from that can leave a pool of blood like that? And why does he just leave them there? I think if I were to bleed like that and know my condition, I'd clean it up.
My company wants to keep it on the dl for now not to alert people and being that I'm a security officer there, I get to tour the bathroom every hour amd smell everyone's poo!

Woah, that's very bizarre. I wonder how the blood is getting in front of the toilet and it seems odd that the person would leave it there knowing that its a biohazard.
Someone posted an inflammatory note in the elevators at my work today. It kind of freaked me out, it was posted in these kind of mounted glass things in the elevators where we usually post flyers for seminars. I think they probably meant it to be funny but it definitely had an angry bent.

Imflammatory note? I'm letting my mind wonder with this one.
There's been a note posted by OSHA in the dining area of this floor basically stating that this is a hazard and they will take action if it continues but, there's been blood in the same place twice since the note has been posted.

it's entirely possible that the person doesn't know they are HIV positive. all the more reason to figure out who it is.
how big are these pools? an inch? 2 inches? More than 3 inches?

what about a chronic nose bleed? if you were sitting down on the can and you lean forward a little to let the blood clot (hey most people use a tissue I know but) that could leave a small pool of blood on the floor.

Nose bleed sounds good, but wouldn't the blood me that really rich red color?
I'm wondering if it's in his urine and he's pooling some there -- maybe out of spite or something? Like it's his way of lashing out a little?

hard to say...blood comes in many different hues depending on the person...
well yeah that's my other thought too...bloody urine. seems obvious. however, I'm thinking that if they ran tests on it they would pick up on it being mixed with urine. and maybe they have...but they just haven't released that info to employees. probably only telling them what they need to know to try to resolve the situation.

I'd say 4-5 inches. Big pools. It's not mixed with urine either. Straight up pools of blood.

The person could have another condition which makes them bleed from the anus.
I dunno. But if they are starting to bleed as they squat for the toilet, it seems like that would go into their underwear and pants rather than
right on the floor. Plus, if it were unintentional, I'd think most anybody would be freaked out about it enough to clean it up.
We need Encyclopedia Brown on this, STAT.

Wow, that's incredibly gross. Whoever is doing must know they're doing it.
The note was a printout from some website about how tough and competitive careers in science are. It was very sarcastic and included a lot of swearing. Very angry and bitter. Very creepy.

this sounds purposeful!
maybe they should test all the employees. i bet that would narrow it down a little.

How far in front of the toilet? Could he be coughing up blood?

if they were coughing if up then it would not be in a pool. it would splatter.

I don't think they can test people to find the culprit. I think HIV status is listed as a disability and they can't require anyone to disclose information about their disability. They can't require anyone to disclose health information at all, especially HIV status.

...if you're not coughing with your hand over your mouth.
But you make a point. If there's no splatter, the blood isn't being... dispensed from much of a height.

maybe the person is a cutter. they cut themselves on purpose because they have mental issues.
and yeah, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to force you employees to test for HIV.

so if you are working at a job where its very common to get cuts and injuries, you are not required to tell the boss that you have aids or hiv??? that seems like that would put more people at risk. i understand the privacy thing and the whole philly movie aspect and all but still, thats people's lives that you are dealing with. to me the more you know the better off you are. i have an open enough mind to not let a health problem affect the way i look at someone. if i'm at work and someone gets hurt, i'm running to help them. its not fair to me if i dont know what i'm getting myself into.
and i was not talking about force. there is nothing wrong with asking. or so my mother told me.

that's why your first aid kits need to have rubber gloves in them. The solution is to do what police and peramedics do...treat everyone like they have a blood borne disease. Use gloves and other devices designed to prevent the spread of disease when responding to an emergency.
people are very scared of aids...and most think it's super easy to catch...but that's not always the case...there are people out there who have been blatently exposed to the virus and for what ever reason they did not contract HIV. I use to think if you get exposed that's it you have it, but not always.
I bet that's illegal. I saw some documentary a while ago about junkies, and I guess you can be tried for attempted murder if you get into prostitution when you know you have HIV. You'd think this would be along the same lines.

A man here in Adelaide just recently was sentenced to quite a number of years in jail for having unprotected sex with 2 women and knowingly infecting them with HIV. The fucker had no remorse either. What a sub human piece of shit.

thats kinda what i was getting at.
this sounds like someone is doing this on purpose. usually when blood comes out of your body it does not make a pool unless you are laying there for awhile in one spot, ya know, like dead. there has to be something legal that can be done to stop people from knowingly spreading aids and hiv.
I would think the employer themself isn't at liberty to have tested these "pools" of blood, considering a PERSON in the US has to agree to having an HIV test done and follow up for the results. Then again, employers will screen prospective employees for HIV - though said future employees have to agree to having the testing done also. They just don't test at random (or so they say).
From my understanding through research in the past (because I'm a hypo, and once truly BELIEVED I was HIV+ because my ex used needles- though his status still remains unknown), I've read that inhibator therapy is associated with increased bleeding in HIV+ people.

My old roommate had a spinning yarn about someone from his hometown in St. Louis that went onto a golf course and slit his wrists. Dr's came running to save him and he blood coughed sputtering let me die I'm HIV. Nice diner time story
Someone here in BKK a few years ago got some bad news from his Doc and then went on an unprecedented Fucking spree hitting as many whores as he could at Nana on a 6 months how do you do : Not much later he died from the Germ. He was in his 50's and had a 18 year old girlfriend. She came up negative...For now
Another person, this one I knew, had a girlfriend that was a bargirl, which is a euphemism for prossie, that suddenly got skinny and my friend told him that he needed to check her out. Sure Nuff: She had the germ. He got it from her and moved back to the UK to die.

Haven't seen anything since I made this thread. Maybe he's reading it and knows we're on to him.
EDIT: I'm back home with my friend that's in the hospital right now though. Maybe I'll hear new news when I get back.
