The actual inspiration for this album art is the cover of “The Amazing New Electronic Pop Sound of Jean Jacques Perrey”. Check it out here:

Perrey was a Moog pioneer, and the Beasties are often-professed avid fans of Moog music. In fact the cover of Perrey’s 1966 collaboration with Gershon Kingsley “The Out Side From Way In!” inspired not only the cover art for the Beasties’ other all-instrumental album, but its title as well.
(I found the above info over at sleevage.com, so a shout out thanks to "dk" over there. -tjpop)

but i mean seriously people, how is this ONLY JUST NOW COMING TO OUR ATTENTION, this far into the off-season?? tour long gone, things are slow, talk of the one-off shows dies down, very few topics of note here and then BAM!! THE SOURCE OF THE ALBUM ART!! you know??!?! i'm . . . just . . . i have to place myself mentally back in june of '07 to even process this information.
this is a lot.

Good find. What lead you to this?
Fat Boy Slim did a remix of a Jean-Jacques Perrey track, E.V.A. by the way.

I was searching google for "Robert Fisher" who did all of Nirvana's artwork, and up came a sleevage.com link, and on the same page as a discussion of Nevermind was link to Mix-Up. Awesome.
I think it's pretty cool that the B-Boys don't give this shit up in interviews and whatnot...makes for great suprise discoveries.

Money Mark's Brand New By Tomorrow album cover is similar too. Front of the wooden radio model on the front and back on the back, simple (y)
