For myself I'd have to go with a 3 way tie between Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie, and Zeitgeist.

never heard a complete album by them but my favorite SP track must be 'the end is the beginning is the end' (y)

3. Gish
4. Pisces Iscariot
5. Machina
6. Adore

You forgot Pisces Iscariot.

Pisced Iscariot is a collection of b-sides, demos, and outtakes and isn't considered a true SP studio album. It's good shit though.

Yeah, but what an album.

Gish is boring.

Mellon Collie has too much (you guessed it) filler. The 5 or so truly great songs on the album are really quite good, though.

Adore was a lot less worse than I thought it would be at the time, but I haven't listened to anything off it in nearly a decade.

Machina was the end for me. I did listen to Zeitgeist out of curiosity but I stopped buying "their" albums after Machina sucked beyond all human comprehension.

That being said, Siamese Dream is probably one of the ten best rock albums of the nineties. Don't front. If you front it's because you're dumb and don't know anything.

And if Pisces Iscariot counts, I'd say it's my second favorite.

For some reason I've been listening to Gish 24/7 as of late, and I'm really digging it. It's really just an early and rough version of that Siamese Dream sound. Tracks like Rhinocerous and Daydream are simply amazing.

Zeitgeist on the other hand I listened to non stop from October 'till now, really. I think it got alot more shit than it deserved. Some fantastic songs (Doomsday Clock, Bleeding The Orchid, Tarantula, That's The Way My Love Is, etc.) are on that record. And for a band that's supposed time has past, for this album to come out and go Gold is really a feat.

Mellon Collie is their "Paul's Boutique".
It's a "deep" record that you have to be in the mood to listen to.
There's really only 2 or 3 tracks on the entire album I skip over.
I still keep holding out hope that Corgan still has it, but each passing record I give up on them a little more.
I kind of gave up after Adore, but I still bought Machina & Zeitgeist and wound up listening to them only once.
I'm pretty sure Corgan has lost it at this point.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone pick up the Zwan album?

Siamese Dreams, I didn't think many people would pick other albums.

I've never heard a Smashing Pumpkins album, but I have heard Zwan. That's probably kinda messed up.

Yeah, I made the mistake of picking up the Zwan album when it came out. Not quite sure why. I've only listened to it 0.5 times.

I liked Zeitgeist and listened to it more than I thought I would. Doomsday Clock is probably the best track on it. United States of America is super heavy, not my favorite track but really heavy.

I saw them on tour last summer and Billy was an arrogant douche but man if they didn't blow my hair back.

He came out tall and skinny, blad head, all in shadow because of the lights behind him, the crowd went nuts. Cue opening chords of Doomsday Clock and the hair stood up on the back of my neck. I really wasn't expecting that after all of these years but yeah. Chills dude. Chills.

Quite good, if you ask me. It's like the lost SP album in a sense...Jimmy Chamberlin is even on drums...it's a more pop driven and melodic SP record, essentially. Definitely pick it up if you can find it.

I got a chance to see them last September, and they blew me away too...of all the tracks on Zeitgeist I've listened to Doomsday Clock the most...great stuff.
