i played the demo for that and it's really fucking cool. they really make you feel like batman. the melee combat is really intuitive and graphically impressive, and the sneaking and stalking feels just right. i love hanging from a gargoyle and dropping down and choking a guy, or swooshing down and kicking him in the back. very batman. still, i think it might be a rental, but i'll be renting it ASAP.

i've been playing dead space - it's really, really good. the controls are very good (why couldn't resident evil be like this?), and the atmosphere is great. they do a good job of keeping things tense and scary without being cheap about it. i really love the monster design, too. even if they don't do loads and loads of damage to you, there really is this great feeling of "JESUS CHRIST GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME" every time you fight one. i also like how they made the plot of the game all about running through the bowels of a spaceship, trying to fix it. i watched battlestar galactica not too long ago and i've been jonesing for games about spaceships, and this satisfies me.

i also rented sonic unleashed, because the hedgehog levels seemed pretty cool - it sucks, don't play it. the hedgehog levels are in fact pretty cool, but they're diluted by the horrible werehog levels (it's like god of war if you took away the violence and the fun) and the weird little hub levels where you have to talk to people and figure out where to go. oh also you need to hunt down medals in every level to proceed to the next levels. stupid. it's like someone baked a decent, but small, cake and said "this cake is too small, it needs to be bigger" and they took a huge shit all over it. and if you wipe away the shit, there's a decent cake under there, but it just isn't worth getting through the shit. it's shit

Finally got around to beating one of my DS games, Final Fantasy 4 DS. After a lot of grinding, I beat that difficult final boss fight. Much harder than the original. I've been playing a lot of Final Fantasy 3 DS now. At the end right now, but this is also another one with hard boss battles. They make you fight 6 boss battles at the end without any save points. Roar.

And I'm going to try out that Batman demo soon.

The demo is great though I feel like fighting a boss would be even better than what you play against in the demo.

Games like these are fun but... it just seems like it might be one of those games where the stages are short and hours finishing the game would be well short. In other words, for me I'd buy the game when it's price is cheap or rent it since it feels like I can pass this game in a day or two.

I hope Assassin's Creed 2 has a playable demo.

finally played Left 4 Dead. I liked Gears of War 2 better for solo or two player. Then I finally read up and realized Left 4 Dead's merits lie within multiplayer. I'm more of a solo or two player kind of gal I guess. BUT I do find it to be a lot of fun regardless and I like when I play offline two player and the AI Boomer decides to barf on my boyfriend instead of me all the time. HAHA.

Although the music for the Witch, if you do not find her/kill her right away, gets REALLY LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS and I kind of hate it. It stresses me out. I'm sure that's the point. But once I couldn't find her for some reason and I was going out of my mind.

A friend of mine got a copy of Batman and said it was amazing and said to get it the day it comes out. I think I'll rent it though to be safe.

Yes. Dead Space was SO good. It set us off on a sci-fi aliens in space on a ship movie kick kind of thing. I also like that some of the storyline deals with psychological elements. Good shit (y)

I've been retro gaming just about all summer, mostly game boy games. Lately I've had access to a couple XBox and Wii systems so I've had a small taste of a few games:

Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360): played this one before, I love this game. It's much, much more fun with multiple people than alone. It's not very difficult though.

Rainbow Six Vegas II (Xbox 360): best shooter I've ever played. Excellent controls, excellent environments, very challenging. Terrorist hunt is a real challenge on "Realistic" mode and even the most seasoned players will get killed. I have about 100 hours clocked in Terrorist Hunt alone and I can't beat a stage alone.

Tiger Woods '10 (Wii): Horribly easy golf game. I understand that it is engineered so most people can play it without having to know much about golf, but it's ridiculous to watch people scoring eagles and hole-in-one's and act like they are Masters champion. As an avid golfer I'm offput by how overly simplistic the game is. Still, great fun with a group of people.

MarioKart Wii: So much fun. Ramp up the difficulty level and anyone can finish anywhere from 1st to 12th. Great for a party. Not much is new from the older games, they even recycle a lot of stages.

For the Batman Review

OK, I finally stopped being skeptical and downloaded the gigantic demo. For a demo of such a huge file size, it was rather short. Still it was really enjoyable. Batman has an overwhelming advantage over any regular enemies but he's still human, so he has to be careful.

Here are some things I am liking about the game:

It's a Batman story where he is not starting fresh: He's already had a rough night and it just got worse - you can see it in his costume; it's torn and has bullet dents at the START of the game. He has a five o'clock shadow. Dude has not been sleeping for a while (and possibly not bathing).

The collectibles - even for a demo, you get a fair amount of collectibles to let you know this game is gonna be jizzworthy for batman fans. Not only do you get statues and bios of characters, you get tape recordings of Arkham inmates - The Joker "You scratch my back, and I won't wrap you in plastic and dump you in the sewer!"

The graphics - probably the main reason I was skeptical. With such a pretty game, I was worried that gameplay would suffer.

The gameplay - extremely unoriginal, but that does not mean it is not fun. 95% of what you do in this game has been done in the last few Spider-Man games. I enjoyed those and this looks like it will top all of them.

Overall, it looks like a minimum rent for everyone and a must own for Batman fans. The final game will hopefully make it worth the price tag for everyone.

I've gone back to my save of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride for the DS.

It's good-old Dragon Quest, but in this game in particular, I'm not crazy about the monster catching system, where you can allow monsters to join your party, and it's even more tedious having to level them, since you have to rely on some of them to fight in your party. Other than that, I dig the generations feature, where you take on the main character's whole life, from being a kid to marrying and so on and so forth.

i've been playing more battlefield 1943, and i'm getting pretty good. i'm still pretty bad at killing people, so i just try to go commando and slip around the islands and grab flags that people aren't defending. i've recently discovered how to deploy parachutes, so i've been grabbing planes and halo jumping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HALO_jump) onto flags, it's pretty damn fun. especially the lighthouse in iwo jima. with precision, you can land on top of the lighthouse and surprise the hell out of any snipers that might be up there, then you can just climb down and grab the flag. they never see it coming.

last night i was playing on a server where our team was outnumbered 6 to 3 then eventually 5 to 2, then 4 to 2, so it was basically just me and one other dude trying to cover the whole map. i just kept jumping onto flags and then killing myself, returning to the carrier, grabbing a plane, jumping onto a flag, and repeating, they couldn't seem to keep up with me for the most part. i don't know what the other guy was doing but he was racking up loads of kills so i guess he must have been keeping them busy. for the longest time we were actually winning but eventually the other team got their act together and beat us. still, it was pretty exciting while we were winning.

Perth's best player uses Sagat. I played a couple of casual games at said shop this weekend, and destroyed the competition. So if he's the best he may not be that good, cause the competition may not be there. Flip side is that he's insanely good, and I played a very non-representative group.

I will use Balrog - my mistakes which I am training to remove from my game are going for the overhead dash punch and eating wake up ultras, and Sagat players who focus attack all the time. I always dash at them with the wrong punch, or sweep instead of something like jab->dash punch which would win.

If I fail at this, I will finally write that self help book about dealing with failure.

PSN has a demo of WET now. If you guys dont know that game then well... fuck you. Its like a Quentin Tarantino's flicks vs Duke Nukem vs Wachowski brother's Matrix vs Prince of Persia.

The theme of the game is cheesy as fuck. (n) But since most of us doubted Batman Arkham Asylum maybe we should give this a try? Demo is about 766MB so expect a real short gameplay or maybe not? I'm downloading this I'll see what review I can come up with.

This is definitely a Quentin Tarantino game mixed with some John Woo action. Its basically Kill Bill. In fact, it kind of is. The slow-mo/ dead-eye angle of the game just makes killing enemies a lot easier and understandable since there are like 20 guys after ya in the field. There is combo meter, showing you how many kills you chain ( I chained up to a 19 kills streak in Rubi Mode.) giving you many bonus points in your feat. The theme of the game is cheesy since it is suppose to be like I said Quentin and John Woo action cheese movies. It has some elements well minor ... mmm no it has some elements from Prince of Persia, like platforms....mmm cinematic game play (play during cut scenes like press a button that pops out on screen QUICKLY.). The car chase scenes are the best, reaaally fun. Using a Katana makes close combat waaay too easy, I'm sure there will be tougher guys in the complete game, I rather prefer something more of challenge like hand-to-hand combats like Batman's new game.

Final word... its a rental game.

Yeah, from this point forward, I'm going to be getting PS3 versions of multi-platform games, because I don't trust 360 hardware lasting for years to come, despite my Elite model still working fine. (Knock on wood) I've never had very many problems with Sony consoles, on the other hand, so.

Although as a side note, I did have to replace the control deck of my GameCube for $50, and now that I look back on that, I feel bad doing that, since I have a Wii now, which can play GameCube games.

And people always say Nintendo consoles are reliable, which is true, but I happened to be in the minority there.

You got lucky a few times there. If Sagat didn't have such a power edge, man they would have been closer.

I faced Blob many times, he is at a higher level than me as a player, we use to go about 3-7 (in his favor), fighting him many times I know how he mentally thinks, he likes to punish and set a good distance exactly to do that and adapt to my reactions (which would have been sweet if Sagat had faster frame for backdash). Against him I act on his reactions and trap sets, knowing that Sagats mobility is slow I just gotta plan before hand, hehe so yeah I'm getting up to his high level. He is both my nemesis and sensei.

i'm playing through MGS2 again. i think the last time i played through it and watched all the cutscenes and drank in the plot was back in high school, so a lot of it is new to me, i forgot most of the plot

the "G" stands for "cutscene" so do the "M", the "S", and the "2". because nanomachines. jesus christ this game has a lot of cutscenes. I think that there are literally more hours of cutscenes than gameplay.

i heard that MGS4 is just as bad. like in the end of the game, from the last time you have to press a button for gameplay reasons to the very end of the game (past the credits) lasts an hour and 40 minutes (the guy timed it). that's a full length feature film. just for the ending.

The only Metal Gear game I managed to sit through was the first Metal Gear Solid. I don't have the time or attention span to sit through hours of cutscenes.

Arkham Asylum is pretty much the same on either console but the PS3 version has extra content. The PS3 version of Ghostbusters has big technical issues (although they are in the process of patching the hell out of it).

Versions for different systems are sometimes done by different companies and sometimes a game is optimized for one system and ported for the other. I wouldn't blindly go for one version or the other if I were you... :)

so i beat mgs 2 and, sitting through all the cutscenes and reading all the codec converastions (reading, not listening), the game took 8 hours and 53 minutes. i played through it again to get a no-kills run, and i skipped all the cutscenes and codec calls and beat it in 3 hours and 9 minutes. now obviously part of it is that on my second run through the game, i knew where things were and could get through faster, but that only speeds things up by what, maybe an hour tops? there's like 5 hours of cutscenes in the game, over half the game is cutscenes. that's crazy

Arkham Asylum is pretty good. Nice and stealthy. The only problems I am having with it is that you can't jump and so far you can't kick unless you trigger a combo. Not cool. But it its definitely fun. Maybe not worth the price, but fun nonetheless

Sure you have the grappling hook and the ledges, but sometimes a mofo just needs to get his jump on. And a jump kick would be ideal since batman has dem ninja skills.

KOF12 is dead. Like it was the most MOOOST anticipated Fighting game of the year by most reviews and when launch came through KOF12 got nothing. In Japan its pretty dead here too.:(

A few fortunate gamers were able to pick up copies of the next Halo game, Halo 3: ODST, when a French retail store inadvertently put the game -- which isn't due to release until September 22 -- up for sale last week. Copies turned up for download on file-sharing networks shortly thereafter, but there's a nasty surprise in store for any Xbox 360 owners who tries to play them.

According to the Twitter feed of Xbox Live's Policy and Enforcement Director, anyone spotted playing downloaded copies of the game on Xbox Live faces a permanent ban from the service.

"Hrm. I spy with my little eye some *illegitimate* ODST players. No early play for you. Commencing permabans," he said yesterday. He later clarified that those who bought legitimate copies early will not be punished.

"If a user happens to purchase a legit copy of Halo 3: ODST early, then our problem is not with the user but the retailer who broke the street date. Those individuals will not be punished," he told Kotaku.

the most bullshit thing in the universe just happened to me

i decided to do something stupid today and try to get the 5 day survivor achievement in dead rising. for people who don't know what this entails, dead rising has an "infinite" mode where your goal is to just run around the mall and survive for as long as possible. your health deteriorates constantly so you need to constantly be finding food. each "day" of game time takes about 2 hours, so at a bare minimum you need to play the game for 10 hours to get the achievement. of course it actually takes a while longer because this doesn't include load times and times that you pause to go to the bathroom and eat food and such. you can't save, so you have to do it all in one sitting, and if you die, you lose all your progress.

the way you get the achievement is you run around the mall, killing people for their food, and then you camp out in a safe spot somewhere where the zombies can't reach you, and you wait for your health to drop to almost zero, eat the food, and then go out and hunt for more.

i settled down with a book i've been meaning to read and played this game for twelve goddamn hours and some time between day 4, hour 23, minute 30, and day 5, THE FUCKING GAME FROZE AT A LOADING SCREEN. i can't say for sure but i think i was literally 5 seconds away from getting the goddamned achievement and BOOM, it's gone. gotta start over. i seriously can't believe that actually just happened.

i mean i wasn't actually playing the game for twelve hours, most of the time is spent waiting around in safe spots waiting for your health to drop, so really it was more like i read a book for 12 hours (got through quite a bit of it, too) and intermittently picked up the controller to press "x" and occasionally hunt for food, but seriously, what the fuck is up with that timing? i don't know what happened. maybe i got the achievement at the exact moment i opened the door and triggered the loading screen and the game freaked out? unbelievable.

i really wanted that lightsaber, too.

All of the boss fights are pretty easy and I felt that in general the game tried very hard to let you know what you needed as if it was terrified that you got bored if you needed to figure something out by yourself.

The God of War and Shadow of the Colossus boss fights were far more epic and satisfying.

I still thought of it as a great gaming experience.

i really love arkham asylum's melee combat system. it's incredibly simple (i unlocked all the new moves but really i rarely go beyond the standard punch/counter/stun moves, they're all you need) but very intuitive and visceral - i have yet to get bored of it. in most melee-based games, getting surrounded by enemies is incredibly annoying, but in this game, the more enemies you have to fight at the same time, the more fun you have. they did a really great job with the combat system. it feels like the burly brawl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxc5l3dqGD0) at times

My rival left the fighting game world for I dont know how long. My war with him is on a temporary stop and on the mist my battle with the forum players lurking BBMB, MSVGF, AIF is on going. Classes have begun and so I'm forced to play casual. Winter is coming soon and which will be the best time to get back in competitive play and train for Spring's 2010 Ladders competition at AIF.

Cant wait, the bitter war against my rival - BlobJr, wining top spot at MSVGF, and fighting to the top for the of Spring 2k10 Season Ladder competition. This is gonna be heavy and brutal :D

Just got through the tutorial. It's pretty impressive. Gonna play it fully tomorrow.

The title screen lets you type out objects that appear for you to mess around in. I typed in 'Zombie' and a zombie appeared and he kept attacking me. I typed in sword and used it to attack him and kill him.

I then typed in 'Vampire' who also attacked me but the sword didn't kill him so I type in 'stake' and one appeared and it killed him instantly.

A bunch of bored police officers in Polk County, Florida, were caught on video playing Wii Bowling while on duty - in the middle of a raid on a drug dealer's house.

We all get bored. We all screw in time on the job now and then. But I think most of us can agree that a search for drugs and weapons during a raid on a known drug dealer's home is not the ideal time to be playing videogames. Too bad nobody bothered to explain that to the officers of the county's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force.

Within 20 minutes of entering the home of convicted dealer Michael Difalco, according to a report by Tampa Bay Online, officers began playing Wii Bowling on the suspect's console. Members of the task force played on and off throughout the course of the search, amounting to "a little over an hour" of total game time. What they didn't realize, however, is that it was all being recorded by a wireless security camera Difalco had installed in his house.

While the usual furor over wasted taxpayer dollars has probably already erupted, of greater concern is the impact the gaming could have on the search warrant. Defense attorney Rick Escobar isn't involved in the case but says that as soon as the detectives turned on the game and "effectively seized it," the search became illegal.

"The real question here is, have they seized property that wasn't described in the search warrant?" he said. "Clearly if they're using it, they've seized it and for totally improper purposes, because it's for entertainment. Investigations are not for entertainment."

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd denied that the gaming would impact the case but said he was "not pleased" with the behavior of the officers involved. "That is not appropriate conduct at a search warrant," he said. "But I am less pleased with the supervision that didn't walk in and say, turn that off. That's what supervision should have done."

I would think he'd be even less pleased that members of a supposedly elite anti-drug task force would need to be watched over like that. That's not supervision, Sheriff, that's babysitting.

downloaded the Fifa10 PC demo after reviews have been raving about it. pretty good, but takes a bit of getting used to after being a PES purist for years. I both like and dislike the fact that you can't beat a man as easily. only with the usual suspects, Messi, Henry, Ribery, etc, are you guaranteed a good chance of getting round them.
the graphics though don't seem up to par really. apparently EA says this is because they have to cater to the large Latin American market who don't have decent computers.

I'm thinking that the PC version of PES might continue to trump FIFA. consoles are a different story it seems though.

i've been getting back into civ 4 and i've been using this amazing mod that i found

basically it's a compilation of other amazing mods - most importantly there's a stellar graphics mod, which gives every civ unique unit art. in the normal game, there's only a handful of unit graphics for the various cultures, and within a culture, the units all look the same (british and french macemen will look identical) and in the late game there's almost no variety at all, not even between culture sets. with this mod, every single civilization basically gets unique art for every single unit. some of them look really, really cool, too (germany gets some very very shiny knights and macemen).

there's also a mod which like triples the content of the industrial and modern age (new techs, new units) and adds future tech too, including stuff like dropships and terminator robots.

it really makes the game worth revisiting, it's about 10 times as fun with this mod

I just got the PES 10 PC demo to compare and it's definitely superior in my opinion. FIFA has some cool stuff in it, some animations, eg tackles, passes, I particularly like. but the PES physics is still great and the graphics are much much better than FIFA's despite the players loping about a bit like primates. Henry especially seems to unfortunately be more of a caricature than a resemblance. hopefully this is something they'll have fixed/tweaked.

but yeah, I'd love to try FIFA on a console as it seems they've not really tried hard enough on the PC version.

I'm pretty sure the solo game is going to good but I was hoping it had replay value since it has online gameplay but you know that was a disappointment. So I am thinking maybe I should spend money on Call of Duty.

Okay here are my top list to buy on full game price and reasons why.

1) Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
- Online play equals replay value, I need a fps in my library as I have a list of fighting games and only one adventure game.

2) Bayonetta
- I have played quite a few games that are solo adventure games and ALL of them ALL of the ones I've played were like designed for babies. There is nothing technical nothing like its its... its just made to be easy and its fucking boring and no fucking skill. In this game I was worried if it had that but once I checked that she can do combos I was thinking like most other games that it would be tap Punch tap Punch tap Punch and there is your combo - stupid. But no its completely different from those game. With Bayonetta the game acts closely to fighting game when it comes to doing certain moves and that fits my style. You go from Punch Hold Punch Kick quarter circle Punch and you have yourself a combo which I much prefer doing instead tap tap tap tap tap. sigh. So this game ... yeah I will buy even if it is solo player type I'm buying anyways cause its better than most solo games out there.

Brutal Legend, I played the demo and right when menu of the game comes out I started to play with the menu screen for 2 minutes. I think this is my most favorite menu screen ever. Its just simple but the idea of it is just so fun. I guess its like what a bone would be for a dog. I cant help but play around with menu thingy. :)

Oh and for the actual game I think its somewhere I would like to own later in the future - the online multiplayer sounds a lot of fun plus with the soundtracks to this games is real kick ass. I'm not sure about the full price - I'm gonna see if I can rent it to whether make myself sure if the game is worth the full price or cheaper. The game to me is still very worthy to own though. As cheesy it may sound it definitely rocks. :o

I'm not trusting any review anymore. After ign and all the praise KOF12 got I felt ripped off buying it at full price. I agree with camo on brutal legend being like a button mashing game (dont like button mashing), but the sound tracks kick ass! Online multiplayer seems to offer more than the story mode of the game but I have no knowledge of its online gameplay.

Uncharted 2 mmmm maybe will buy but online is horrible from what I played in the demo.

I loved the bit at the beginning where the game pauses to ask if you want to turning the swearing on or off. That was funny in one of those 'this usually doesn't happen' type occurrences.

Also if you leave the demo highlighted in the PS menu, Jack prompts you to to get head banging over and over :D

seems like everyone I know so far will be purchasing Uncharted 2 over Brutal Legend.

I'm split in between.

Uncharted 2 isnt button mashing like Brutal Legends which I like because it challenges me as a gamer another reason why I'm crazy for fighting games and now bayonetta.

Bad part of Uncharted was the online play is horrible. Lag teleports and player freezing I couldnt move my character for 5 minutes and more.


Brutal Legends has an interesting online gaming and the entertainment value good and all but what it fails to me is the lack of skill. Might as well be a Wii game if it button mashes all day.

haven't played anything but the My Player mode, where you create and then control the career of a single player. only downside is that it's hard to make the player look like you. I ended up looking like some kind of zombie viking.

Got the maintenance tunnel key which is making a difference, in my quest to be man enough to play Dead Rising.

the most important thing you're going to want to get is that bathroom shortcut that you get as a reward for rescuing the survivor in the roller coaster after killing the clown. that thing saves you so many trips through the park it's not even funny

the other important thing you're going to want to get is the triple-booked mini-chainsaw. that thing is practically cheating, you'll never need another melee weapon. the only downside to it is that it's really, really risky to use it around survivors because if you hit them they'll lose a ton of health. that makes it hard to deal with the situation where a survivor is being grabbed by a zombie and you need to save them. just carry around a nightstick or something for those situations, those work pretty well.

and if you end up loving the game and want to play back through it multiple times, consider doing the zombie genocider achievement to get the mega buster. that thing makes boss fights an absolute joke. and all you have to do is drive cars through the maintenance tunnels for four hours (not kidding)! one important thing to note: you must get an ending for the game to actually get the mega buster. if you get the achievement and then just quit and start a new game, you get nothing. you just wasted four hours. you have to beat the game, even if you get a bad ending (and you will, because you'll miss all the story missions in those four hours).

Finally got round to playing inFamous and It's pretty good fun. I debated going down the Evil guy path but I found that frying anyone and everything to be fun for only five minutes. I think I'll save that for the second play through.

I saw an ad for MW2 last night in the city and it suddenly dawned on me how much of my life/time it will suck up. I'm going to have to be careful to not get too addicted to it this time.

Past the game 2 days ago. SOO many one liners but all in good taste. I think Cloe's last line in the game was my favorite by far.

Also I unlocked some knew skin even the obese version of Drake. Its fucking funny. Also Nate has this attire or winter attire that kind of makes it feel like playing Indiana Jones. Pretty much the game story or theme whatever it is it feels like playing a 007 vs Indiana Jones theme all in squished into a bundle and pumped with heavy action.

Instead, players will be matched through their ranking, console style. No more massive 32 player servers then.

i rented borderlands for the 360 and...eh. maybe the starting area is just really slow but i'm finding myself kind of bored and wishing i was playing fallout 3 to be honest. i'm so sick of killing skags, maybe when i get into a new area and fight new enemies the game will be more interesting but for now i'm really not into it. i should say that i've only played solo so far, maybe the game is more fun with people. nobody i know is getting it for the 360 though and i don't really want to play with strangers.

i'm also not a huge fan of the diablo 2 style levelling up and loot gathering type game systems. i really don't like loot at all, honestly. i hate having to constantly stop and compare whether the weapon and armor i just found on the ground is better or worse than the one i'm carrying. do i want +15% fire resistance or 150% criticial hits? etc. if you're into that kind of thing then i guess this is definitely the game for you because it's basically an FPS version of diablo 2, only set in a vague post-apocalyptic/western environment with guns and energy shields rather than swords and armor. but me, i'm just kind of bored most of the time i'm playing it.

i'm also not sure i care for the concept of a stat-based first person shooter. it's like, you're not strong enough to kill this enemy, so you have to go back and grind and kill skags for a boringly long amount of time until you level up, and THEN you're strong enough to go back and kill that enemy. but i'm still just shooting him in the head. suddenly this works? i don't care for it really.

i will say this, though, the intro cutscene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai7pMPCDHpo) is great. if only the whole game were like that.

i'm not completely sure. at the point i'm at now i haven't had to purposely backtrack and grind for levels yet (though there were one or two enemies that i barely beat), but i'm still pretty early in the game. i gotta say though, even just playing the game, moving forward and doing the missions feels like grinding. it's just like go here, kill hordes of skags on the way (those are the most annoying things), do the objective, come back, kill more skags, get a new mission, go do it, kill skags, etc etc...eh i'm not feeling it yet. but i'll give it more time i guess.

FPSes are generally better on the PC, yeah, but it's perfectly playable on the console, i haven't really had any trouble playing it, i just don't find it interesting. i assume it would be pretty decent fun if you were playing co-op with a few friends but on your own it's pretty boring and i'm not really interested in haggling over missions and loot with strangers

Natch I'm crazy hyped, but I've been getting info from eventhubs and srk. I can't think of any reason to post about it here other than to relay readily available information.

I think Balrog is getting a new focus attack. DeeJay's EX horizontal kicks cause the opponent to crumple. Crumple off EX moves, well I can't be sure how I feel about that. Definitely more reward for landing an attack in what can inevitably be a bit of a turtle-fest of a game, leading to ultra etc. The amount of crouching I see is nuts these days.

I think Capcom want to take out option selects (which is the main reason for the crouching) and Ono said "fewer start-up frames on jumps" which would liven things up quite a bit - like Hyper fighting I guess.

The modes trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ge6C58a7Eu4) looks interesting. Car is back, although it will get boring fast it's a nice fan service. The lobbies thing where 6 people wait to fight and watch the current match, I don't think anybody has considered how much strain that puts on latency. We'll see how it pans out.

My sepculation is that Seth will have moves from the entire cast (Gen, Fei Long et al) and that judging by a snippet in the above trailer, Sagat's Tiger Shots have slower recovery. One of the Capcom peeps made reference to a Darkstalkers revival; I honestly think Morrigan will be in this. We'll see.

the normal warranty is only one year i think. the warranty for the red ring only is three years.

if you do the option of them sending you a box(they over night it) it's a lot faster. from the time i asked for a shipment box and sending it back and receiving a fixed console was like 6 days.

that was the last time though, just recently. the two other times i had to do it, it look 2 weeks one time and like month the first time.
