Thanks everybody. I spent the day home sick from work with food poisoning.

So my presents were stabbing pains in my gut, a bad headache and 20,000 trips to the toilet. I had to cancel catching up with family and friends for drinks.

Now its the day after, just in time for me to feel fine and go back to work. Hooray.

Worst birthday ever.

Theres a restaurant called outback?? I wonder what kind of food they serve, as pretty much all the food Australians eat is stolen from another culture.

We don't really have our own cuisine.

Outback is a steak chain restaurant.

Well I sure do like steaks

didn't the Argentinians invent those

If they didn't they sure do cook good ones

i had something with pineapple in it. i asked my husband "really? does Australia actually grow pineapples?" we decided no.

it's like a theme. they played men at work way too much on the sound system and there were boomerangs everywhere. also, we (my husboo and i) said didgeridoo way too much as that's the funnest word ever to say.

happy birthday!

the jumping kangaroo shadow on that website is amazing.

i can guarantee that place is not half as cringe-worthy as the australian-themed bars we have here called WALKABOUT. yes, walkabout. i had a kangaroo burger there once. hmm, "a bit gamey". that's what everyone says when they don't really know how to describe a strange new red meat, innit?

in walkabout on australia day they were giving a way free fosters-branded hats etc. i know it is apparently poorly regarded in australia and believe me, it is here too. but glasgow was lapping it up. a picture exists of me in said hat (they were selling the cheapest pints of beer at the time) giving a very exaggerated wink but there is no way that is being distributed to the general internet public.

themed bars/restaurants are almost always uniformly shit.

EDIT: fuck! there is a NO WORRIES ZONE! that is hilarious. i love this place!

Australia does grow pineapples, in Queensland. Good ones I think.
