I understand that this song isn't entirely new and that it won't actually be on their new album...but I was just thinking, remember when The Roots used to make quality songs like Clones, Adrenaline and Proceed? Yeah, well, they stopped doing that.

At the very least I gave it a chance, and I didn't hate it like a lot of people do, but it makes The Seed look like fucking Cop Killer. But the fact a Fall Out Boy was on a record with the Legendary makes me cringe like you wouldn't believe. Goddammit.

At least 75 Bars and Get Busy sort of make up for it. I'm undecided on Rising Down with Mos Def and Styles, and the song with Wale isn't too bad. I'm still hopeful since they were smart enough to leave Birthday Girl off the album.

That's no excuse.

how so ?

Thats the record business these days unfortunately and you know it. especially if you're with a major. If you're not moving units.....next.

Plus we're only talking about one song it's not like they're dropping a pop album, so i don't see peoples problem with it really

There's no problem with rap albums comprised largely of pop driven songs (Kanye's made a respectable career for himself doing so). This one just happens to really suck. It sounds like a companion to LFO's Summer Girls.

i'm not a huge fan of the song by any means, but i understand the reasoning behind it. I still have high hopes for the album
