Yep...I've been a couple of times, the tickets were not cheap...and in general I'll say the chemistry onstage is lacking...as I guess some of them don't even talk anymore...but Scott Thompson was the show...(y)

(y)

Last time they were here, they met with people afterwards, too. I'd die a happy girl if I could shake Bruce McCulloch's hand.

I want to go, but I have a lot of bills to pay in the next month. we'll see. I got excited about it earlier today, and started watching youtube clips. maybe that's enough for me. heh. also, dave foley is my favorite, but he doesn't even look like dave foley anymore :(

Hey, did you ever watch The Wrong Guy with Dave Foley? The premise is that he was caught up in the scene of a murder and then figured the cops would think it was him, so he's running from the law. However, the cops have a videotape and know it's not him, so they don't even give a shit about him. It's actually pretty funny.

My favorite skit of his is probably the sarcastic dude who has no friends.

yeah, that's a good one. I really love his reactions to the chicken lady when they have a blind date though, so funny.

Kids heading back into the hall!

Comedians making TV miniseries

Canwest News Service

Wednesday, December 03, 2008

The Kids in the Hall have a miniseries in the works for the CBC.

It's not a return of the old show, but a new project still at the development stage, confirmed CBC spokesman Jeff Keay.

The series is tentatively titled Death Comes to Town, according to media reports.

The original Kids in the Hall TV show aired on CBC from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s, featuring surreal skits and a quirky cast of characters --including the headcrusher, the Chicken Lady and Cabbage Head--played by Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson. The hit series was also picked up by HBO and CBS in the U. S.

The Kids released a feature film, Brain Candy, in 1996. The surreal comedy has been hailed as a cult classic by some, but was not received well by critics nor moviegoers.

Since the sketch comedy series ended, the Kids have worked on solo projects both in Canada and the U. S.

Foley starred in the long-running NBC series NewsRadio and more recently had a recur-ring role on the Canadian series Robson Arms. McDonald and Thompson have landed roles in various sitcoms. McKinney has appeared on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and co-wrote and starred in the critically lauded Canadian TV comedy Slings and Arrows. McCulloch, a Calgarian, has directed several Hollywood movies, and was the brains behind Carpoolers, the short-lived but critically praised NBC comedy that aired last year.

The troupe reunited earlier this year for their latest cross-Canada tour, including a popular stop in Calgary and Foley and McDonald are among the performers featured on a mu-sic and comedy cruise hosted by the Barenaked Ladies Feb. 1-6.

Details on the new miniseries are scant, and no word has emerged yet about when the series might air.

saw them at Town Hall NYC around feb. 2000, and got to meet/chat with Scott, Bruce, and Mark. Kevin ducked out early and Dave was running around with camera crews, babes, and an entourage.

Jesus 2000 was my favorite new sketch, and they brought out all the favorites.

Seems Dave thinks he's too good for the Kids these days. It's an odd thing when in the public he seems to have disregarded his roots, yet he still does tours with them once in a while. Disappointing.
