i've been watching the Jackass movies over the last few days and, because of all the social links to the boys, started thinking how different a road they've gone down. the boys seem like the family version of who they were before. i gotta say i like the softer, gentler side as much as i like the Knoxville/Jonze/Jackass route. i'm particularly drawn more and more to yauch's sweeter, calmer, more innocent self. but after listening to Spike's voice over and over now and reviewing the posts from guyute88, i'm still convinced that Spike's the "get on the DVD" guy from AIFST. a softer, gentler prank.

The members of Jackass do not act that crazy all the time, in recent years anyway it's just been for the movies. You think Knoxville goes back home and performs stunts for his kid? The Beasties early years were simply that...they acted wild on the road for sure but again, it's not like they'd come back to their families and be wild all the time.

They've obviously calmed down, but it's not like that's a recent thing. By Check Your Head they were a touring band not causing chaos and mayhem on the road, or getting banned from Holiday Inn's etc. Their behaviour in 86 just fitted in with LTI in general.

I kind of see what you're saying, but I don't think the paths which they've gone down are really comparable.

sorry to burst your bubble, it is definitely 100% not Spike Jonze and without a doubt , 100% the guy who posts as guyute88, he was at all the screenings and is a jam-band bootlegger.

I love the story Yauch told while they stayed in a hotel, they had a party in 2 rooms, 1 on each floor, and they cut in the floor to pass the beer to each other!

What was it Ben Franklin said about the true definition of insanity?

hm. i think he said insanity is . . . and i paraphrase . . . being a dick to people over and over and over again and expecting . . . results.

I surely am not trying to be a dick. but I am very curious as to why acamus isn't letting this one go.

it is a long brewing idea that just has nothing to stand on.

the story of the poster who got banned is irrelevant.

the "get on the dvd guy" is not Spike Jonze.

it is a fact, proven with hypothesis, data research, and science.

science, people

Well, mister, I'm not sure where you got PhD is science but according my data and youtube research, I found that mustard seeds are involved in this Spike conspiracy.

One word: Fonts.

acamus

Well, I got the fonts question answered two nights ago. Yellow, because it makes the text pop and it is a little garish and he kinda likes that. The choice of many fonts in one work was on a scene by scene basis about what worked/what fit. He understood the point of traditional "rules" about font choice, but just didn't look at it that way.

As for the Spike thing, I'm just curious, dude. I'm probably totally off, but I don't see the problem with pursuing it. I hear what I hear. That's all. I hope you don't take it personally like I don't believe your explanations. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. However, I didn't ask him this question in person, but will soon. It's my obsession; it's not about you.
