One for every year in hip-hop.

You could just delete everything off your iPod and download 93-96 and you'd be set. Classics.

Wow!

Thanks Roosta - I've only just started munching my way through these but I can hardly thank you enough for this link.

An absolute goldmine of delight - so many classics that I haven't heard for a long time plus a bunch of older shit I've only vaguelly heard of.

:)(y)(y)

(interesting how sick 90 and 91 were in retrospect - everyone talks about 88,93,94 etc generally)

Great Find: 85 looked like a choice year

Sadly, there's no Bad Boys~Inspector Gadget or one of the greatest songs ever written Mixmaster Gee & the Turntable Orchestra~ The Manipulator

It took me a year and a day to remember the name of the Inspector Gadget song much less find it. And I had to go to http://raphiphop.tuneforums.com/threads.php?topicID=1
to find out who did The Manipulator.

If anyone can guide me on how to put that up for the masses you won't be disappointed. Particularly The Manipulator. Its gratuitous use of the bell has never been surpassed

That's the only explaination I can offer - simply because it is THAT GOOD - In fact it's probably even better than that.

'Just Rhymin with Biz' is a ridiculously good track - one of my all time favourites.

try harder!

i didnt really think it was sticking out of the other tracks

Fair enough, in many ways it is a very straight-forward, un-ground-breaking track but it has a lot of character. I like the swagger in the rhymes, the overdriven vocal recording, Biz's crazyness, Kane's slick rhyme and how many tracks can boast having Biz Markie screaming 'Funky' like a lunatic three times at the beginning? Plus you've got to remember that 87 and 88 are well known years for fine vintage hip hop so it's hard to stand out from the pack.

I've been checking out the sleeve notes and stuff and I still have no other explaination.

I'm just glad that something has prompted me to play that track a bunch of times over the last couple of days - like I said, it's an all time personal favourite.(y)
