Most Annoying Song Ever

I was reading the LATimes the other when my eye caught this headline "Most Annoying Song Ever (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/funny_pages_20/2008/04/most-annoying-s.html)", will that linked me to Wired magazine which had this headline "MP3: A Scientific Attempt To Create Most Annoying Song Ever (http://blog.wired.com/music/2008/04/a-scientific-at.html)" which led me to the website Dial "M" for Musicology and this Headline ".You want postmodern? I'll give you postmodern (http://musicology.typepad.com/dialm/2008/04/you-want-postmo.html)" that eventually sent me on this quest for the actual song, I came along this link "the most unwanted music (http://ubu.artmob.ca/sound/komar_melamid/KomarMelamid_The-Most-UnwantedSong.mp3)" which pretty much made me cry "UNCLE" within 5 minutes. I think there may be a dozen songs on here, perfect for those guests who overstay.

I thought this thread was going to be about "Stand" by R.E.M.

Not to state the obvious, but the whole idea behind the "song" in that first and second link seems a little too contrived. And I understand what the purpose behind it is, but the end result isn't technically a "song"; it's still just an excercise. There's little in the way of cohesion, there's no real theme or even a melody....it's basically a collage of sounds. And it's 20+ minute length seems a bit generous. If the composers had squeezed all these elements into 4 or 5 minutes, it might have worked better. But I'm assuming the length was supposed to be annoying.

Regardless, this can be considered a song the same way someone might consider Revolution 9 a song, but it's really just what the article refers to it as; some dork's science experiment.

"Stand", on the other hand....THAT'S an annoying song.

Those are pretty bad but I like "We Built this City" in a perverse way so I'll listen to it through the finish. I think maybe a Billy Joel song could be one of the worst, I'm not sure which one but would have to exclude "Just the Way You Are" because I like making up my own lyrics when it's on the radio.

Chicago has some very hideous music though, I'll agree they are definitely in the Top of most annoying bands, I will judge people negatively if they say they like Chicago, luckily that rarely happens.

And whatever song that Simply Red guy was pissing and moaning about. My hand to Bob that song was played once an hour on MTV when it was 1st out...And never stopped: They just kept playing it over and over again. It was my own personal hell

The creepiest song that I hate is Extreme ~ More than Words. Because when I was in college, I had a roommate and we didn't have a TV so we'd get high then he'd bust out his acoustic guitar and start playing that filth. And you ask me, Bangkok, did he sing that song while he played it? And to that I say to you ~Oh Yea, You can bet your ass he did.
That song is to music what bad oysters are to food. So I moved out of there pretty quick.
No amount of weed in the world is worth having to go through that.
