It takes a very long time to load onto the PS3 Hardrive, that's for sure.

The story line so far is hilarious and the music stations rock! Especially 'Classic FM' That is Dj Premier's Old Skool Hip Hop station...

Lots to do it and it is rather complicated for a dumb kent like me, I have to keep looking at the instructions...

While I am sure this game will be technically amazing/beautifully rendered/etc etc etc I have a fairly strong suspicion its basically going to be more of the same shit that got boring after Vice City.

I just had another wee blat. I can't get too into the story yet because of assignments and such; as it goes on it will only keep getting better, I'm sure. But yeah, it's an awesome game. Or rather, heaps of people think it's an awesome game. It's still Grand Theft Auto. It doesn't feel radically changed. I'm doing the Little Jacob missions and trying to *spoiler* bone Michelle.

Multiplayer is fun to just fuck about with, but people seem to be going into deathmatch mode instead of taking advantage of all of the vehicles and space at their disposal. Plowing into a crowd of other players with a flaming ambulance was pretty funny. Also, I did a GTA Race where I blew my car up and spent the rest of the race riding a moped back into the competitors and hurling molotovs at them. And one Cops and Crooks game I chased a mafia boss into a duckpond while my partner stood at the edge firing at us both swimming around in circles. It was pretty absurd. :D

I had an awesome run on multiplayer this morning. Deathmatch is great once the scale of the city sinks in. I found a sniper rifle and just hung out on the train tracks picking people off. And cops and crooks, managed to sneak a win by launching the cop car onto the heli-pad and shooting the last crook as he was taking off. N3rd.

Story is getting better, too. I use a direct connection for my Xbox (don't ask), so I think I'm always going to have the router connected when I play this. A big part of the charm is being able to segue in and out of single player at will.

i'm noticing that the driving in this game is a little clunkier than it has been in past incarnations. i'm getting used to it a little but i still find myself slamming into walls and cars and flipping over a lot.

that said, it's actually really fun driving so terribly. on a date with michelle once, i flipped over the car and squished two pedestrians and landed on my wheels and kept on driving without a break in the conversation and that was hilarious. then one time i tried to bypass the toll both by squeezing through the little crack to the side of the booth, only the crack wasn't quite as wide as the one on the other side was, so i slammed into the wall and flew out the windshield. i didn't have to pay the toll though, so it all worked out.

anyway this game is great, even when it's not doing anything particularly great. the attention to detail is amazing (for example you can see niko press down on the horn when you honk it), there's just a bunch of little things that add up to into one great big amazing thing. i almost want to take tomorrow off to play it too, but i actually have things to do, so i won't

i'm also loving the eastern european protagonist thing, angry yelling is so much better when the sentences have no articles

The thing I've found about the driving is it's useful to tap the brakes, and alternate between no acceleration, accelerating and braking to swing the car out. It's been helpful in Cops and Crooks, but fucked if I can really explain it.

Oh and speaking of Cops n Crooks; one of the cop models looks exactly like Carl Johnson.

Ok, I played it last night for the first time.

Driving is tough but I've never played any other GTA so I dont know any different. I got the hang of it eventually.

There. are. too. many. cops.

The Triangle Club was lame, I couldn't even get a drink and the chicks were not topless.

How does it work when you die, it doesn't seem to just start you in the same place in the game. You miss out on things when you die as far as I can tell.

Fighting is hard, people chase you.

I like the scene cuts, hilarious shit. And that and some of the language on the street in Russian so I know what they're saying. (y)

I LOVE stealing cars and cruising around the city changing the radio station. The graphics are really amazing.

As someone said, attention to detail is amazing. I stepped on a flattened cardboard box in Roman's building and it moved under my feet.

In ranked deathmatch, people were complaining about other players using cars. In Grand Theft Auto. There's a lot to be said for shottying somebody in their car and turfing the body out to steal their ride. Especially in deathmatch.

I have ordered an uncensored version for PS3 but it hasnt come in the mail yet so I went and hired the australian censored version from the video store for the weekend.

So now the oz version is loaded on my HD.

When I get my overseas version will i have to delete then re install that version including saved game data? Im thinking I will have to.

Also I have only had my PS3 for 4 days and it has already frozen 4 times, or just gotten stuck in loading mode about 3 times, on 2 different games.

Game is not a 10 in my opinion. It's a 9 tops, but not a 10. All of those innovations are still sealed up in the same 'Drive here pick up this follow him don't get too close take out the *insert crook here* get back to the depot' gameplay. I mean it's awesomely done, but it's still the same old Grand Theft Auto.

No hate, I'm still enjoying it. It's just that you reach a point in a new GTA where you feel like it's shown you all it's got to offer and it gets kind of dull (I mean compared to the initial greatness, at least). VC shone because the missions stayed pretty solid, though. And IV has more of that crummy writing that means you start at the bottom and perfect strangers decide they want you to off people for them. 9 isn't bad though. Just sayin.

I played it a shitload this weekend.

The commercials on the radio are hilarious. "Why risk having a stupid or ugly child when you can order one on the internet?"

Kid P: I kicked the guy off the roof. And then when I was making fun of him I jiggled the controller a little and fell off the roof and died. :mad:

I took Michelle to the strip club which I think pissed her off. Then I had a little trouble hailing a cab to get her home and it said something like "You scared Michelle". I am not sure if there are any ramifications for that or if I lost something. Haven't called her again to see if she'll go out with me.

Also, I got arrested and they took all my weapons away which I thought was pretty wack. You should be able to get them back somehow. I just used a cheat code.

So I am not sure if I am catching everything. I just sort of wander around until someone calls and asks me to do something. Sometimes I call them and see if they have a job.

I got a prostitute. Got the $70 service and was really surprised how much they show of it.

I am still not sure how I feel about all of the sex in this game. It just kills me a little bit every time my fiance has sex with a prostitute and then kills her and takes his money back. I wish it didn't have to be so abusive and dehumanizing.

I guess if I were a female character and I could get guy prostitutes and roll them and stuff maybe I'd feel better about things.

Game is not a 10 in my opinion. It's a 9 tops, but not a 10. All of those innovations are still sealed up in the same 'Drive here pick up this follow him don't get too close take out the *insert crook here* get back to the depot' gameplay. I mean it's awesomely done, but it's still the same old Grand Theft Auto.

No hate, I'm still enjoying it. It's just that you reach a point in a new GTA where you feel like it's shown you all it's got to offer and it gets kind of dull (I mean compared to the initial greatness, at least). VC shone because the missions stayed pretty solid, though. And IV has more of that crummy writing that means you start at the bottom and perfect strangers decide they want you to off people for them. 9 isn't bad though. Just sayin.
i think the beauty of this game is that they've made the game for "once it's completed, there's tonnes of OTHER shit to do" and for multiplayer a tiny bit more than the single player side of it. San Andreas started that off... you could do shit on the side but GTA4 looks just intense. i've just arrived in Bohan(boham?) and i feel like i haven't done half the shit i need to have done to get there. either way, it's a fuckin' great game. you're right though; if it gets 10, that's a bit generous.

MGS4 will get 10 ;) i love the new design of the cars. painting the road with strips and..........!! BURNOUTS!!

Take a helicopter to the statue of happiness, and jump out onto the top ledge. you will see 1 door on each side, one of which has a plaque on the front that says 'no hidden content in here'

walk thru that door and climb the ladder up inside the statue, and you will find a giant beating heart. no shit.

You can steal them from HeliTour in South-East Algonquin (y)

You can also steal a hunter from the police station in North-Holland, but it's tough to get to.

So I've recovered my MSX FM and Radio Los Santos mp3s to the Zune and I've got it hooked up to the 360. It's hard not to put the Lynchmob song on repeat when you're firing an AK at fools.

Also, I think Brucie is the funniest part of the game beyond Republican Space Rangers and Roman talking about titties. He reminds me of the BOOM HEADSHOT guy.

Loving this game with all my heart. I'm about 3/4's through the single player story but it's the multiplayer that's keeping me glued for hours.

The Cops n Crooks and GTA Race modes are really good fun.

Like last night, I plan to put it on for an hour around 7 or 8pm and I'm still there at 1 in the morning! Even had another BBMB'er in the lobby last night igniting the race LOLZ.

It's just such a good laugh, CoD4 etc is good online but nothing beats a game where ever 2 minutes someone is pissing themselves laughing down the headset or shouting "OH FUCK MY CAR! YOU CUNT!".

Amazing scenes of 11 people racing down the airport runway in Mr Tasty, the ice cream truck. We should definitely get a BBMB game going one time.

I totally agree, for me my experiences in Vice city and San Andreas were all about the bikes and scooters. Remember starting V.C and the first vehicle available was that little scooter? Good times.

I tried so hard to like the bikes in GTAIV but I found myself failing mission after mission because they're too hard to keep steady.
