Totally one of those dudes with a complex of some sort which causes him to release his anguish by being a cunt towards people over whom he THINKS he has authority.
So I've never particularly appreciated the way he speaks to me. He's my direct supervisor, the person I'm supposed to consult when I have questions, concerns, need instructions, etc. However, he makes it nearly impossible to do any of that because he either: a) acts completely inconvenienced/too busy every time I approach him about ANYTHING; b) doesn't pay attention to whatever I'm communicating to him and subsequently responds with something that isn't helpful at all; or c) acts as though I should already have all the answers.
Well, yesterday, he pretty much treated me like a second class human all day long. At the very end of the day, he totally snapped and acted like a child towards me over something relatively insignificant, to which I simply said, "Mr. Supervisor, you DO NOT need to speak to me that way." That was the first time I have ever talked back to him.
He has not spoken to me since, which has made work a lot more pleasant because I don't have to deal with his bullshit. The problem is that clearly this can't continue forever. We need to speak again at some point.
So, do I sit him down and tell him again in a respectful way that I want to be able to communicate with him, but I would appreciate it if he not to speak to me that way? Or do I just let the silent treatment continue?
I think this is all because he is a very short man and probably didn't get enough tail in his life.
