Right then - i did somethin foolish when installing a "copy" of Ableton Live 6.0 (music software for those who dont know). The lad who gave me it said he thought it was the full version. I installed it using the serial code he gave me - i entered it and the program appeared to be working. Then about ten minutes later a pop up appeared with a code to unlock. I thought i already had the full version so i closed it down cos i am stupid.

When i realised that the code was to get the full version offline, i uninstalled it and reinstalled but i didnt get the option to put the serial code or get the pop up with unlocking code. It just started the progam again.
Does anyone know how i can uninstall/reinstall and get the option to put in the serial code then get the unlocking code. I only have the "lite" version and its very frustrating cos its a really good program and i want to use it all!

please please please can anyone help me? I am not very skilled when it comes to pc's as you prolly already know so if you know the answer, can you break it down into manageable chunks please?

Uninstalling usually still leave stuff in the registry (settings for future use, like if you want to install again).
So if you go there and delete the correct files after you've uninstalled then it will be a "first" install the next time.

But I'm not sure I would recommend you poking around in the registry unless you know what you're doing.

cheers TAL. Where can i find the registry? Its not the control panel is it? I am so rubbish at this sorta stuff. I think it sounds a little beyond me but i will give it a go if i can find the registry.

Someone suggested doing a system restore to last week but not sure thats a good idea

I shouldn't be doing this :)

Start>Run...
Write "regedit" and click OK.
