I remember my father taking me hunting when I was a kid. I shot a deer when I was 14. I lost interest after my 1st and only kill. I just do not understand shooting a gun before you see the prey. I don't think I will ever take my son hunting. We will be fishermen instead.

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. -- A hunter mistook his son for a turkey, shooting the boy to death in what authorities called a terrible accident.

Oldham County police said a man and his 14-year-old son were hunting on private property in the 2000 block of Rebel Ridge Road about 7 a.m. Sunday when they got separated.

When the father noticed some movement in the woods, he fired a 12-gauge shotgun, accidentally killing his son, police said.

This incident is the latest in a series of turkey hunt-related shootings in recent weeks.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that an 8-year-old boy was shot to death by his father while they were on a similar hunting trip in Minnesota on April 21.

A teen in West Virgina has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy. The two were hunting turkey, but were in separate parties when the shooting happened, according to the Charleston Gazette.

That kid's name was Hunter.

And before you ask, no, I'm not kidding.

And don't feel guilty for laughing because that shit's fucking funny.

i wonder if they were neighbors?

i don't really see the appeal in hunting either. maybe osmething like bow and arrow to shoot a turkey or something i would eat. but thats about it

I can almost guarantee you that the kid wasn't wearing the typical day glow, bright fucking orange vest and hat like every responsible hunter does. Either that or his day was really hungry.

It seems as though the hunter became the hunted!!!!!
