(I know theres an official nhl playoff thread, but this deserves its own thread)

I'm totally syched for tonights game! I was lucky enough to buy tickets on ticketmaster (they sold out in less than 5 minutes) I'm leaving work today at 12:30 to start the party! (I can't concentrate at work anyways)

Philly vs Pittsburgh! Two of the best sports towns in America! I can't wait to be inside the arena to feel all the energy and excitement (I'll share some videos with you all afterwards)

The Pens have won 13 straight home games. The last loss was in a SO with the Sharks. Our last lost in regulation at home was on Feb 24th!

Tonight is also "WHITE OUT NIGHT" so everyone will be wearing white. (they are handing out white t-shirts at the door to everyone to be sure of that)

Any Pittsburgh or Philly fans going to the game tonight?

I'm going on Sunday and I'm fucking pumped. I might go down with all the drunk people and watch the game outside but I'm not sure. I'm so fucking psyched though. I played two games of NHL 08 today against the Flyers and won 4-1 both games so let's hope that's a prophecy.

I think they do the free shirt/towel thing in every sport's playoff game now.

I thought they were calling it "White-Out Night" because Derrian Hatcher was going to knock another one of Crosby's teeth out tonight.

Flyers won 5 out of 8 against the Penguin this year and have already knocked off Ovechkin and the #3 seed Washington and the #1 seed Montreal.
But they're form Philadelphia so they'll most likely find a way to choke somehow.

one helluva game, i must say. it was really up and down for the first 15 minutes. great goal my malkin to take the lead to end the first. and that short handed goal was quite nice as well.

its a shame that the flyers played clean almost all game but had to ruin it with some cheap shit in the last 5 minutes. i don't know how the ref's missed that high stick with about 5 mins left, it was pretty blatant.

I was in section C. What a First Period! 5 goals in all!

I could be going on Sunday as well, but decided against it. There's something about spending $400 in 2 minutes thats not to appealing to me haha!

Could you guys hear the "Go Home Flyers" chant near the end of the 3rd period on tv?

I caught about 28 minutes of video on my digital cam as well. I'll share those with you as soon as I upload them.

Hockey not a sport? Funny. I know it must not rank as high as competitive eating with you, but it is most definitely a highly skilled sport. Pathetic and Depressing? When was the last time you've been to Pittsburgh? When was the last time Philly won a championship in ANYTHING?? And making redneck jokes? Dude, I lived out there for two years and have seen my share of backwood mother fuckers out there. Probably moreso than here.

Pittsburgh does suck but...they played a great game and the Flyers looked so bad. Too many turnovers, didnt hit anyone at the blue line. They just looked a step slow. Also, the goal that Biron gave up at the end of the first changed things. That was the only weak goal he gave up.

However, Flyers have lost game 1 previous 2 series and have come back strong. We need to bring Downie back.

Their were cheap shots all night, not just by the Flyers so quit being such a Homer.

Go eat your gay Primanti Bros. Sandwich and rant for the NRA and continue to wish you lived in a big time city.

Any sport that not only allows fighting, but embraces it can never be taken seriously. Imagine the NBA allowing Kobe to take a swing at Lebron for taking him strong to the hole?

well then, explain to me why other sports break their games into quarters?

and while your at it, if you could enlighten me to why baseball has 9 innings, and 3 outs per inning. or how about why tennis scores each game with "love-15-30-40" and why you need 6 games to win a set? or why golf courses are 18 holes, and they play 4 rounds for a tournament. and then if you have some more free time, you can start explaining to my why nascar races are sometimes named due to how many laps they run, while others are because of how many miles they drive. and on top of that, you can tell me why they choose to make it several hundred laps/miles.

i mean really, who the fuck cares why each sport is that way?

hells yeah! that was an awesome game!

the flyers never had a chance to get into the game. the forecheck was suffocating and most of the chances were stood up at the blue line. and anything decent put together was snubbed by rock solid goaltending.

if they play like that in the cup, there is no team in this world that can beat them. no doubt. i can't wait!

I'm not going to lie, I'm a wings fan and I want them to win and I believe they will, but the Pens deserve tremendous credit. This is not goign to be a complete mow down of Crosby and the kids.

PS Flyers suck a lot of ass. Seriously, 33 years of fail.
