man this is a real shock. i thought it was bullshit when i first read it.
it's so weird to retire now, i mean she's only 25 and she's no.1 in the by a really long way, she's even got more points over sharapova then federer has over nadal! plus the only players she's lost to went on to win those tournments, so she hasn't lost form. really strange to retire just before the french open.

Hell, if you really think about it 25 is old in tennis. Most tennis players have been playing seriously since 14 or 15 yrs old.

yeah, you see her quite alot carrying around Carlos's daughter. it's just weird she's quitting at no.1 in the world and with the french open 11 days away. at least Sorenstam is playing out the rest of the season. it's pretty close in the women's golf rankings too isnt it? coz that mexican chick was no.1 for a fair bit if i remember correctly.
