So I spend a lot of my work day in my car (sorta sucks right now with gas being so bitch-ass expensive). I rotate between cds, tapes, ipod and the radio to keep it interesting. I just started listening to WEXP (91.5) which is a joint NY & Seattle station. Their good, which isn't saying much in NY which has among the worst radio selection in the world. Anyway the station uses "14th Street Break" as a segue between its news and local events bits at the top and bottom of the hour. Play a good minute of it twice an hour I'd say. It is both very nice and a little frustrating because It feels like their about to start playing a Beastie tune and then they don't.
They do also play the occasional Beasties tune- heard intergalactic recently, but this morning I was dumbfounded as they played a remix of Body Movin' set to Credence's Bad Moon Rising. It was amazing- absolutely made my day! I'm not so into the remix/Beastie mash up scene (I'm not opposed- I just don't listen much to them) so it was a really nice surprise to hear a Beastie song in a way I'd never heard before. I think it was called "Body Movin' Rising" by Silence something or other (not 7). Thought this crowd might dig this station- you can listen on the web, I think.
