Yauch in MEAN

Adam Yauch is interviewed in the newest issue of MEAN magazine. The focus is on Oscilloscope Pictures, GFT#1S and AIFST. A couple tid bits of new info come out. Besides the new music created by the Beasties for GFT#1S, Yauch worked on a few pieces himself that are in the film. He was asked if he actually coined the term "mullet" and said that he'd brought it back to LA from friends he heard it from when snowboarding in Utah. He's asked about the film about the Beasties that was co-written with Spike Jonze and says there's little chance that will be revisited. He talks about China and Tibet. Finally he said the Boys still have weekly basketball games.

What interests me about the mullet thing is that no less than the Oxford English Dictionary (the arbiter of the English language) credits them (through Grand Royal Magazine) for coining it.

I got it through my local record shop, Criminal Records. (Just had to plug them.) Try a local joint.
