NASCAR or Cup cars, average around 180mph around Indy. Indy Cars average 222mph. Hitting 230mph pretty much flat at most of the time.
Also a major difference in the racing product itself. If you touch wheels in openwheel you're both going in the wall, hard! In NASCAR they say rubbin is racin. Not so in openwheel.
MCMoot, glad to know you follow the openwheel guys....an girls. Should be a good show at Indy seeing as though CC and the IRL have merged. If you ever plan on attending a race let me know. I usually hit most.

I don't think there are to many automotive type on this board NoFenders. lol
I enjoy INDY and open wheel cars but do not follow it regularly but I would love to hit up the Indianapolis 500 some day. Not to far away.
I'm not a fan of nascar at all or not to big into circle track but a freind and I picked up an old GTI for cheap we are going to build to compete in a cheap 4 cylinder class for the hell of it.
I am into attending autocross and track days and love to watch time attack cars go at it, touring cars and that sort of thing.

too bad we lost F1, cuz that was way more entertaining that the 500.
They black us out, so we cant even watch it. which sucks (for people who want to watch it) But I've been to all three (days leading into the races) and F1 brings out the coolest crowds. Nascar drivers are cool though, they are all really nice and will talk to you and shit. Indy they kinda walk on by. oh well, atleast we get race bikes now.
