BBQ Talk Update

I am re-watching the BBQCO TV pilot right now and just noticed an older, black woman's voice in the background with a pronounced patois talking about "curry goat, and ackee and saltfish". That sound made me skin tingle because it could easily be my aunt Calra's (except she's dead).

Also, an art teacher friend of mine told me about some group of artists who are filming BBQs and the like. He didn't use the term low-brow, but that's what I took from it.

There were three. The first was my realization that there was someone, like me, of Jamaican descent in BBQCO. It's like using the BBMB as your own personal blog.

The second was that there is some connection between what the Boys have done by filming the BBQ and what some other artists who are gaining clout are doing. I don't know their names yet, but will post it when I do. I'm wondering which came first, are they coincidental, etc.

And it made me laugh.
