For her to show to all her relatives driving in from Pennsylvania to see it while at her sister's graduation.

The jeweler had delays.

When my ex-husband proposed to me, he had told the jeweler 3 months in advance that the ring had to be ready by a specific date. When he went to get the ring, the jeweler told him he only had the stone and not the setting, but he would mount it in a similar setting for him to do the proposal, but to bring it back and exchange it when the real setting came in. I had made it clear I wanted white gold or platinum.

When I opened the ring box, my first words were, "It's yellow gold!"
