So I was out the other night with my friends and I was introduced to a colleague of a friend called Vincent. To me the name conjures images of slimey guys with slicked back haircuts and garish clothes. Much like the landlord we had at uni who went by the name Vinnie and seemed to have a different (expensive) car each time we met with him (come to think of it, he never did give us our bond back either).

Vincent turned out to be a Vinnie and he was a complete arrogant letch, he totally lived up my stereotype. He chatted up every girl he could and if they gave him no play he'd comeback and tell us that they were lesbians or slags. I wanted to punch him all night but I kept my cool for the sake of my mate.

Do any other names do this with other people?

Lawrence (or, Laurence.)

A Larry is an OK guy that you could hang out and have a beer with, but a Lawrence, forget it.

I bet Lawrence drinks Pimms.

Vinnie drinks Vodka Redbulls and Vincent drinks blood.

The name desiree always conjures images of a fat disgusting slightly retarded type girl. It's because of this girl in my like 1st or 2nd grade class.

A friend of mine is a Vincent/Vinnie. He's a bit letchy, but in a funny way.
He's also a total geek (he's a runescape master), a metalhead, and the most uncanny resemblance to butt-head I've ever seen or heard.
He's a sweetheart though.

I only know one guy named Vincent and he was a black guy who was a great artist. He started getting in trouble alot and I saw him being escorted outside of the jailhouse in an orange jumper and shackles.

eh, it kinda sucks. He was a pretty cool guy. I wonder what he's up to lately, if he's changed for the better.

So on this topic, I've never met a nice Linda. I've met a Linda that was nice to me but mean to most everyone else. Anyone know any nice Lindas or is this just an inherently angry name?

The Lindas I've known could be nice or real bitches, just turning on a dime.

My old best friend's mum was called Linda and she was nice. But she did make everyone call her sue. Maybe she turn's into Linda when she's angry, like a female version of the hulk...

My best friend is a Linda. She's an absolute sweetheart and gets along well with everyone. I've never seen her do anything even remotely bitchy.

I've only known one guy named Vincent. We called him Stinky Vince. The sobriquet was well earned.

There's three Linda's at my work at the moment.
One of them is really false, fake smiles and tries to shine for the right people,
real asskisser and a backstabber, total big-asses white bitch.
A couple of months ago I found out I wasn't the only one who thought so....
The second one is really nice, all smiles as well, but the little I've worked with her she's been an allaround nice guy.
The third one is totally new to me, hardly swapped a word with her (she works in a different "department") so I can't say a thing about her.
