Its 57 and rainy here. :(
Is it sunny at least? Or is it my most hated of weather combinations: hot but gray and cloudy ?
Yetra Flam
06-09-2008, 05:46 PM
yeah it's sunny and quite humid.
and i don't get why women think it's ok to just go flopping about with no bra on when it gets hot. they could put someone's eye out with that shit.
The weather out in the mid-west is bizarre. Non-stop raining every day, but it will also rain on and off, with segments of humidity. This is not summer to me.

How dare you!?!
Its bad enough its a million degrees in th shade and it hurts to breathe, but now your trying to take away the only ray of sunshine in this hellhole of an existence that is summer in the city? Ah, hell no!
LADIES- DON"T LISTEN TO YF- leave them shits off. Doesn't that feel better, yeah of course it does, look how breezy and nice that is, and OMG LOOK OUT!!!!
*looses an eye (but is weirdly ok with it)*

I've been sick for a few days so my temperature's all fucked up. At the bus stop, I took off my sweater because I was warm, so I was in just
a T-shirt and short sleeved shirt. Now at the office I'm putting my sweater back on because I've got chills.

i'm sorry you're sick. :(

Thanks. Nothing tastes good, so I'm just eating grain bread and 7-Up, trying to keep it down.
The sweater was too hot. I've got this Papa Bear/Momma Bear/Baby Bear thing going on right now. :D

of course your problem might be emotional.

Sorry about your dad. That sucks.
Me: it's the whole blood pressure/job search/stressed out thing. I keep puking, my heart is racing so hard it waked me up and I can't get
back to sleep.
I've got about 40+ resumes out there and ZERO nibbles. I've never had this before. I need to find something in the next couple weeks or I am fucked.
TMI, I know.

NO not TMI.
i know you don't drive normally, but do you know how to drive and have a good driving record?
my husband works for DHL and i know they are always looking for drivers. might be an interesting change of pace, although less money. might be something until you get something good?
he loves making deliveries, but he doesn't do it much anymore since he's been promoted to manager.

I can drive just swell -- I actually used to drive a truck for a warehouse I managed. I've thought about it, but San Jose is such a sprawl
that I don't know all the streets and such. But I might have to check into something like that anyway and just see if there's something
with a reasonable learning curve.
I'm basically looking at administrative jobs, customer service jobs, data entry, stuff like that. I'd really really rather not have to go back
into sales if I can help it, unless it's something I could really get behind.
I applied for a baking job, too, which kind of excited me. And a job in a print shop. That would've been interesting.

i've always liked the idea of working at a print shop. i think it'd be fun. we do some print shop type work here and i really like it.
i don't think it'd be too hard to get on at DHL. hell, they may be looking for management! and that pays extremely well! i'll ask matt to check on that in a few.

Print shops are very appealing to me. I've published three small magazines now; two were able to keep going after I left, at least for a while.
I'll have to check on the DHL thing. Thanks.

Thanks. I'm sure something'll work out. Might have to get two jobs if I can't find one good one.
I had a few prospective jobs in the pipeline and was getting joy from none so i focused on one and pretty much harassed them into a quick reply! Not that I recommend this method though :D

I've only done that once. I guess getting a job is something I've just always taken for granted.
i was waiting for a train at an outdoor station today and i had my feet out in the sun and i'm PRETTY SURE my feet were starting to bake in my shoes. i was wearing black sambas (probably a bad idea) and my feet were getting very hot and putting them in the shade did not really help
the only thing i hate more than this weather is people who like it. you just know some asshole out there is all like "oh isn't it so nice that the sun's back out finally"
no! i miss the cold and rainy days compared to this. at least when it's raining you can stay dry when you're inside. ain't no staying dry in this weather. i'm sitting perfectly still in my room with a fan blowing on me and i'm still sticking to the seat, aagghhhh
i got 3 hours of sleep last night because i couldn't fall asleep because of the heat, ugghhh

Agree 100%
This weather sucks and I'd happily take a cold February snow storm over this shit any day of the week and twice on Thursday.
I work outside too- shit SUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSS!
I got out of my car today and went to pick my foot up and it felt just like I had stepped in an enormous wad of gum. I was really annoyed and hot and sweaty and pissed and thinking about what to clean my shoe off with when I looked down at my shoe. I hadn't stepped in gum- it was so hot that the tar was melting off the road around the pothole repair blacktop. Thats right- the fuckin road had melted!
I hate the stupid summer.

i know i'm the only person in the world who feels like this, but i actually like my humidity hair. it looks crazy. i'm a crazy lady.
It's so hot I saw squirrels fanning their nuts. BadaBing
It has been sweltering here in Central Virginia. I think it has been 99 or 100 or 101 the last 5 days.
I keep seeing these people riding electric scooters to work. I know they are saving gasoline and helping the environment......but if I could put a motor on a refrigerator I would do it. Hey, that is a good idea(lb) I would never have to think about what to pack for lunch.
I will see you all later its so hot, I think Ill go to hell just to cool off.

Hahah! Brilliant. I don't care what temperature you have or what country you are in. I'd take it over here! I'M FUCKING IN IRAQ! It's over 120 degrees or like 50 celsius. ALL THE TIME! We're lucky at night if it drops below 90. We have absolutely no air conditioning and very little shade from the sun.
I'll never complain about the temperature back home again.

i'm not a huge fan of the 100 degree heat or anything, but i LOVE summer. everyone hate me now. ;)
i love to wear dresses and skirts and flip flops and sandals. i love to go to the pool and bake in the sun with spf50 on so i don't tan at all. i love vegas when it's super hot with no humidity. i just love summer!
They list the Baghdad's weather every day in our paper. I see 120 degrees and shake my head. I can't imagine the suffocating heat and sand getting in my clothes. My friend was in Iraq for a little over 2 years and said it was crazy heat.

man, I've got wall street detail to this week. 8 hours standing outside and yesterday and the day before were extreme. Talk about sweating standing still.
