Robocop: Yes please, on a recent view his rubber armour and the way it moved was doing my head in.

The Rock: Fuck no.

you CAN'T re-make Robocop!

If anyone needs the death sentence it's these fucking people who re-make stuff.

But he'd make a super bulky, stupid looking Robocop and your right he is a good comedy actor so it would be weird seeing him all straight faced. Much like that guy from Van wilder playing serious roles now or even Jim Carrey.

He's dropped a lot of the bulk. He's in reinvention mode.

That's a bit too far. I wouldn't want to have lost The Fly.

I'd like to see a remake if only because Peter Weller was so awful in the original. He showed more emotion as a fucking robot than as the actual cop pre-death.

abcdefz
06-11-2008, 11:03 AM
Weller was terrific in that.

The New Age, too. Crazy underrated actor.

that is retarded beyoned belief.

Hollywood has officially abandoned all hope of ever having an original idea.

I think the haters should go first, since it's rightly regarded as a classic.

Who remembers the Robocop game on the C64?

I had it but didn't play it much

abcdefz
06-11-2008, 02:24 PM
Not me.

I didn't have many games for the C64 -- used it almost entirely as a word processor.

I had a text-based adventure game that was absolutely awful, though. I don't think I ever got more than two moves in.

Most of the time the tape drive sucked, anyway.

You know what? I just realized I had a C20 at that point. I got a C64 later for the word processor, because I had a floppy drive for that one.
That's right.

90% of the major motion pictures coming out are either remakes or a marvel superhero. hollywood has no original ideas at all. it's sad.

what really pisses me off is someone thinks they can remake susperia... what a fuckin' joke that will be.

Well...I never said it was awesome. I said it was a great film.

It had the perfect blend of action, black comedy and social commentary. It has a very clever script, and great action.

They had a severely edition version once on British t.v (ITV). It was the first time I hear the phrase 'mutha-funster'.

It was edited by chimps too (n)

haha..yeah, that version is brilliant

instead of "fuck me!" when the gas-station stick-up dude sees Robo he says "why me!"

and when Dick Jones says "once I even called him asshole" it becomes "once I ever called him -INSERT IMPERSONATED VOICE HERE - AIRHEAD"

adam_f

Nothing is as bad as Die Hard 2 when it's on TV. "Yippe-ki-yay motherfucker" becomes "Yippe-ki-yay MISTER FALCON!"

it needs to be found (y)

Also props to the melting man scene, that was notorious amongst kids in school. You weren't cool unless you had seen it.

You've really gotta see the director's cut, if you haven't already. The meting scene and the Ed 209 scene were tamed down for the R-rated version.

camo
06-12-2008, 08:57 AM
I look it up. Which ED209 scene it that?

abcdefz

The demonstration scene in the board room.

"You have ten seconds to comply..."

camo
06-12-2008, 09:00 AM
thats a pretty violent scene uncut.

BTW have you seen the new hulk film yet? I'd love to hear your review when you do, seeing as your the only other person I know who gave ang props for his effort. I'm a huge hulk fan.

abcdefz
06-12-2008, 09:01 AM
I think it opens tomorrow. Still not sure if I want to see it.

Did you like Ang's version? I thought it was a failure, but the parts of it that worked were fantastic.

camo
06-12-2008, 09:08 AM
Yeah we've both mentioned about the awesome visual editing (y)

I'm biased but I like it apart from the dog scene. I think the new one is going to be one big 'dog scene'.

And then he became completely badass. Maybe my foot in your ass would help shed some light on the subject?

Red Foreman is fucking hilarious.

Movie re-makes already in the works....

You can go here (http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/15211/38_planned_movie_remakes_you_didnt_know_about.html ) and see descriptions... Makes me sad, I can never watch re-makes of movies I love because it f-cks up the good memories I have attached to them.

Bold ones I definitely DO NOT want to see re-made, as I don't think they'll ever do as good a job as was originally done.

The Shadow
Battle Royale
Starfighter
The Evil Dead
Knight Rider
Conan The Barbarian
Logan’s Run
Death Wish
The Taking Of Pelham 123
Fahrenheit 451

Hellraiser
Tron
Clash of the Titans
Akira
The Birds

Good lord! I haven't thought about the C64 in forever. I had some Bruce Lee game, I remember. It kicked ass.
