So no discussion yet on this? 35 counts read into congressional record Monday night and only a segment on MSNBC's countdown detailing it Tuesday.
MSM has put a blackout on the story it seems.
Leaving the lefty blogs to cover it and making it easier for MSM to blow this off as leftist garbage. If not for C-SPAN most people wouldn't even have known it happened.

I'm for it.. my man Dennis Kucinich doing his job while all the others sit around with their thumbs up their asses while the whole fucking country goes into the crapper, WTF? What is wrong with people?
Old man David Letterman had Tom Brokaw as a guest last Monday and Dave pretty much laid his thoughts out on the line,
Guys talking about the President really can't do anything about the economy. I don't know if that's true or not, but let's give them that one, let's just say “okay, the President can't do anything about the economy.” Everything else has gone so lousy in the last eight years. I mean – and I'm a guy who doesn't pay attention to much, as long as I got wresting and a TV dinner I'm fine – but even I am perceiving now that things are horrible in ways they shouldn't be horrible. Now, we're not going to impeach the guy. Could we get our money back? Honest to God, what, I mean [audience applause], just at least something.
Not that letterman is my political guru, but he is mainstream and for cryin' out loud this sure seems like unacceptable behavior for an elected official.

Democrats for the past 8 years = no spine. It pisses me off to see the Republican machine hard at work in '99 to impeach Billy for something STUPID, but there's no Democratic machine even running to start any kind of impeachment of Bush! He's run the country into the ground and we're all worse off because of him, surely that must count as much as lying to the country about gettin' your dick sucked, if not --gasp-- counting more!

It just goes to show the world and ourselves how backwoods we still are... Sex scares and frightens us, yet violence and deception are a ok.
No wonder porn is such a huge industry here...

It seems Bush's biggest allies have been Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. I mean there is a clear case here for impeachment.
So what precedent exactly is being set here? Are we going to ignore violations to our constitution?

Cheney's were introduced a while back and buried by the judiciary commitee. These were 35 counts towards impeachment towards Bush laid on monday night.
If nothing else this proves how far MSM has buried this story and frankly it's disgusting. I hope Obama or god forbid McCain holds the MSM, the House of Reps, Congress, and the Judicial Branch accountable in some way.
Honestly everyone who's let these articles die in commitee should be stripped of their job as they have failed to uphold their oath to defend the constitution.
And anyone involved with the media, particularly political news anchors and pundits should find a new line of work if they somehow missed 4 hours of impeachment readings on prime time C-SPAN monday night.

Absolutely contemptible that the Democrats would just wuss out and send this to the Judiciary Committee where it's expected to die.
Good for Kucinich for at least trying. It's just the other 400-some idiots ruining it for all of us.

It's a strange replay of impeachment proceedings against Cheney. where Republicans voted against tabling (killing) the resolution, in hopes that open debate on the floor would embarrass the Democrats. Both Cheney and Bush impeachment articles are now buried in the Judiciary Committee, thanks to the Dem leadership. I understand that Pelosi, Dean etc. would rather keep a wounded, lame-duck President to vilify during the campaign. But this kind of political maneuvering makes me ill, especially when it basically shits on and ignores the ideals these politicians are sworn to uphold, ie the sanctity of The Constitution.

the only joke here is your gross ignorance.

would you at least substantiate an opinion now and then, that would make you a lot easier to listen to, seriously
anyway my understanding of why the democrats are trying to kill this is because they don't want to alienate moderate democrats before the election or something like that. they don't want to come off as crazy radical leftists who would *gasp* impeach a president who sort of ruined our country and our reputation, whatever of it was left. i don't really understand that logic though, because the republicans appear to have got away with it when they did it to clinton, so i'm just kind of lost here

The Supreme Court is even telling this President he is not above the law (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/washingtondc/la-na-scotus13-2008jun13,0,1563887.story), I'm really surprised that my kids kids kids are going to be wondering why their paying for this joker in the year 2108.
Because we liked being lied to by a low brow administration. What the hell is this generations legacy, to encourage political malfeasance? It's a historical nightmare and we're allowing it to happen to us. Voting for a new president isn't taking our country back, it's passing the buck.
Take your country back.
yeah i'll uh...do that after lunch, thanks for the advice

its not really our fault....media, from its inception is a tool to control and distract people. that is why there is a media empire in the first place. william randolph hearst, rupert murdoch. At the birth of the CFR, one of their first actions was to buy all the major newspapers in the US...
our only fault is for allowing them to control us.
backwoods isnt so much what we are. its disempowered, discouraged and distracted.
we argue between the lesser of two evils. we fight for our jobs, for our livelihood day in and day out. we hop on board with the media when they tell us gay marriage and abortion are the two issues we need to care about most. we continue our living because if we stopped the system would not take care of us long enough to reconsider anything else. insurance and healthcare are totally unnafordable. education sends you a hundred thousand dollars in debt before you are 25 years of age. kids are raised in child care centers because both of their parents have to work to stay afloat. and in the meantime, we are bombarded with television, advertising, technology and fear tactics.
as the middle class is becoming a part of the lower class while the upper class becomes even fatter and richer.

who figured out yeahwhos password and signed on to post?:p
but what effect does this even have on the president? in my opinion the entirety of congress, the house and the supreme court (minus a few) are all co-conspirators for allowing this who double presidency to continue on in the first place. for allowing it to get this far.

I like how if you think to the left, you are a radical left wing wack job. OMG a liberal! I guess this country will need a few more generations to shake off the fact that being liberal or conservative is not a bad thing and just because you are, doesn't mean you are to the extreme where you want to knock down houses to plant trees or knock down trees to setup oil pumps.
This country is backwards. We keep things like same sex marriage, affairs, and prostitution in the news to cover up the billions lost, bad bills, and the mentioned impeachment. Its pretty ammusing and thats all I can think of it without looking like a stereotypical left winger with crazy hair and nawing on tree bark wondering where the basic principles are in this country.
I hope I'm alive when the coasts wake up and take back this country from those in the middle. It warms my heart to see the Southern Baptist worried that their numbers are declining. Good.
Don't get to upset with the Dems. They are afraid that if they step up, they will be considered "wackos" and the spin machine is heavy against them to not be cordial and behave. Theres that next election to think about. Those on the left, tend to forgive, those on the right, tend not to forget.

Yeah, but if it went through, the Republicans would be absolute toast in November...moreso than they are now. Republicans are super worried about this contest, internal memos between the members of the GOP confirm that. If they had to deal with an impeached president who ENDORSES McCain...well, moderate Democrats, moderate Republicans, all facets would be turned off by McCain at that point.
But like I said, Democrats = no spine.

If we are willing to ignore crimes because it is politically expedient, how exactly is this any different than what Bush did himself?
Personally, I find it insulting. If you weren't going to do it for real when it could have made a difference, don't fucking bother with an empty gesture now. You're gonna throw us a bone? Well that's just swell but I didn't ask for a bone, I asked for a representational democracy.

I'm being kind when i talk about impeaching President Bush and his swell Vice President Dick Cheney, some very smart people would like to try him for murder (http://www.amazon.com/Prosecution-George-W-Bush-Murder/dp/159315481X/ref=pd_sim_b_title_1).
but if members of Congress think Bush should be impeached, then they're obligated to take the vote as far as it'll go. The Republicans who pressed for Clinton's removal didn't have the votes to go all the way, either — and they were going after a popular president.
Who's going to be inclined to trust Democrats saying they stand on principle if they're letting election-year considerations trump a matter of law? It's not like Congress' approval ratings could get much lower, so what are they waiting for? They should press ahead with a vote and if it fails, it fails.
