What do you think, folks? It sounds like it might be good, but I really know shit about this stuff.

No big loss to the Red Wings. The Sharks were stupid to fire Ron Wilson in the first place. I predict the Sharks fall in the standings slightly and don't make it out of the first round next year. They've been Cup worthy for years but they choke as much as the Ottawa Senators.

I think that firing Wilson was sort of doing something just to do something.
Plus, Doug Wilson didn't hire him, so maybe he never felt ownership.

The firing of Ron Wilson was supposed to be a shake down to wake everyone up. Regular season success means jack shit unless you can be successful in the playoffs. Unfortunetly for the Sharks their scoring dissapears and it's up to Evgeni Nabokov to make 40 saves a game for a win to be even possible.
If the Sharks are going to do anything they should try to pick up more scoring. Hossa's available but at a high price. Brian Rolston might be an effective pickup. For whatever reason Cheechoo has stopped producing as much and being a one line team doesn't work long term (see Ottawa Senators). If the Sharks had more depth up front, I'd take them much more serious as a Cup contender.
To end on a bright note, Nabby should take the Vezina tonight.

Ron never really had to worry about not getting a job.
Kinda funny that he wound up in Toronto, though.

Also a bad move. Kings have spent too much time rebuilding. Like, 4 years too long. They've got some good young stars but patchwork signings won't do the job. By drafting they should pick up a solid young defensemen to become the next Rob Blake. Kopitar will be their big star up front, but there isn't much else there. Corey Perry is available, and the Kings have some money.
