this is so good and so far reaching that, well, you know (http://www.popmatters.com/pm/blogs/post/60001/the-threat-posed-by-girl-talks-new-album/), it's prolly too good.

hmm...does anyone else find this a bit too...mathematical..or...something?
i'm sure this stuff kills it live but i'm a bit meh about it right now.

The flow is jilted a bit and some of the speeding up and slowing of samples seems a bit too calculated, but overall it redeems itself in the amazing mashing . Girltalk seems really less concerned about flow (though the flow isn't bad) and more concerned about ample samples, and the abilty to make them work on multiple layers, when it works, and it does several times on this disc, it's brilliant.

"In Step" (http://www.theworldforgot.com/twf/mp3/Girl%20Talk%20-%20In%20Step.mp3) is a classic example at the .47 second mark Salt n Pepa are just finding a groove then all of a sudden Dee Lite comes chiming in and it sort of feels off, like WTF is this?... but within 10 seconds it redeems itself with one of the best mashes he's ever done, "Groove Is in the Heart" Nirvana"s "Lithium" with "Push It" and then the Gap Band takes off after that with "You Dropped a Bomb on Me"...

The "Gods Only Knows" ending is just over the top sharp mixing.

I have to give GirlTalk snaps. Great culture hustling. Really some fun stuff.

Night Ripper is about a billion times better than this. It has its moments, but its too simplistic/calculated in certain areas.

im not really convinced yet

it kinda gives me headache in a bad way and it's not the first time im hearing songs getting abused this way
