View Full Version : Someone has broken into my paypal account.
They have stolen my card details and have charged my account for all sorts of crap. All in US dollars.
Fraud sucks.

I feel your pain having had my card cloned only last month. Tossers the lot of them. Can you get your money back? :(
I also had a bit of a fight with Abbey when they charged me for going overdrawn because of the transactions that were made without my knowledge: £2470 was taken in the end....
I don't know. I've informed Paypal and cancelled my card. I hope this is just a clerical error and someone has inputted they're card details in wrong.
I'm cardless and without money for a few days now. Yikes

jesus-sorry to hear that-total fuckers.
someone sent me a spoof e-mail supposedly from e-bay but was so obvious. it was sort of...hi this is ebay we need to check something so please send us your bank details....not convincing but they're all cunts('scuse me)
hope you get your money back and whoever ripped you off gets a nasty cock-or other depending on gender-rotting disease
I'm hoping Karma will carry it's course.

Yeah, this sucks. That happened to me a few years ago. A couple hundred dollars in charges for $19.99 each or so showed up from Europe.
Took a little while but it got straightened out.
I hope yours gets fixed pronto, camo.
Yeah cheers, I've cancelled my card and I've got to wait a few days to see the extent of the damage. So far is a couple of hundred quid on some skype calls.
It was a debit card to not a credit card so I don't know how this will pan out regarding refunds.

Obviously we have different banks, but mine was a debit as well and it got sorted.
cool. I think most banks are owned by the same people so I'm hoping the same procedures apply then!

I'm pretty sure someone was trying to break into my paypal account last week. The site made me change my password and confirm a bunch of information.
I didn't want to do all the stuff but considering what would have happened... Sorry to hear it happened to you.

I hope you went to the site directly and didn't follow a link from an e-mail message...

It was there when I tried to log into the site and in my e-mail reminding me to do it. I should be covered.

I've just had confirmation that I'll be fully refunded for the money stolen from me (Just over £400 or $850).
It turns out that the payments were to Skype and most probably down to someone setting up premium phone line and making calls (with other peoples money) to make even more money for themselves.
The swines.

How long is it going to take?
I'll have the money within 10 - 30 days. I'm just glad they only did that and didn't use my money on items that would have been hard to claim back ie on something other than pay pal.

I get those all the time!
If you get these kinds of messages from PayPal (or eBay as well, and other similar sites) forward the mail to spoof@paypal.com (or spoof@ebay.com).
They don't want their customers to suffer and they always check who's sending these phishing messages and go to the bottom of things...
