so, cort and I went to a short film festival. and got a little tipsy, and went out to a bar we never would have ordinarily gone to. I was perfectly fine to stay by the front, but she was like, "let's see if we can find a table in back", so I was like, "sure", so we walk back and around a corner...and HA! the dude I have been casually seeing/fucking, was back there sitting at a small table with a girl! I looked and froze and was like, "no, that's not him...yes! it is him! with a lady!" and I turned around and ran. cort made eye contact with him and walked away. then I ran out of the bar and yelled, "what the fuck!" and just started laughing.
it was the most sitcom/rom-com thing that's ever happened to me.
a wave of relief washed over me, but I also felt like, "damn, am I getting played? when I thought I was doing the playing?"
now, I don't know if he was on a date or not. but it was like the universe grabbed me by the collar and said, "this is definitely not the dude for you".
anyway, cordy and I went on to meet up with our other bff and had some good talks about life and stuff. and I admitted to other bff that I had a major crush on the guy she had previously liked (the guy I needed flirting advice for) and she gave me permission to pursue.
so yeah. I'm pretty interested to see what happens next.
