I linked up this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-sy62EIeVo) in the past of Paul Gilbert dropping the 'Stairway' solo into the Spice Girls.

Also Scar Tissue (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og42E_H7dLw) because those little solos capture the spirit of that reunion and song pretty well, I think. Very simple, bittersweet and for me, evocative.

Obligatory Jimi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD7s4i_X-p0) since I plan on being the least-informed poster in this thread.

More will come to me, I'm sure....

That song is Dangerous. Best Solo Ever. Versatile Too...That song is my what I listen too when I get myself into or out of a sticky situation...At the very least it's playing in my head.

Greatest Song Ever Put to Tape

Beautiful Solo and if you don't like it then You're Deaf and Dumb bc he puts in a Pick Slide to let you know that Guitar Solo is Serious Business

You Sneaky Bastard: Cliff Burton was in a League of His Own
And he was probably the greatest Bass Player as since that guy in the Who: Metallica would have been contenders if anyone else on that bus would have died but him

If I had a time machine:It would have been Lars~Not Cliff

Rivers Cuomo's solo near the end of the Weezer jam "Haunt You Everyday" is most excellent.

Great Weezer song. The best one on that album. One of my all time Weezer favorites. Speaking of Rivers, I gotta cop his two "Alone" albums. I paid a grip and bought the import version of the first one, cause it was advertised on Amazon as having bonus tracks, but it didn't. So I returned it, and still haven't gotten around to coppin' it.

He's a really good guitarist. In the book "Rivers Edge", he's quoted as saying something like, that he can really shred if he wants to. Obviously that would be uncalled for in his music, hah. But, I'd love to hear what he's really capable of. I'll have to befriend him, and ask him to shred for me.
