I saw this junk in Lucky magazine, Softsheen Carlson Magic Shave Powder.

and it's a depilatory powder that you put in water and make a paste with. it's supposed to remove black men's beards. but it works really well on legs (and purportedly the bikini line, but I haven't tried it). it's more effective and doesn't burn as much as nair. it smells awful and is really messy though.

Don't believe the hype. It burns like fuck, and I do not feel it was any more effective than any other commercial depilatory. And yes it stinks.

well, I didn't believe the hype, I tried it myself (legs only) for me, it only burned a tiny bit and was more effective than nair or veet. shaving usually leaves me with red bumps because I have really sensitive skin, this stuff left everything smooth and I didn't have bumps or itching when the hair started to grow back.

it does smell awful though.

I am racking my brain for something to share but I feel like everyones skin and body is SO different, that what works for me may not work for all.

people DO ask me about my skin a lot though. I just say moisturize. I never go a day without using proper face lotion, and I use SPF 15.

im a big fan of st. ives apricot face scrub. it smells like peachs and cream oatmeal and makes my skin pretty. that dude took a shower here and was like "man im gonna smell like a chick" and got out and was like I LOVE YOUR SOAP

i used to have the best most beatiful skin ever with just regular washing it but lately i've been getting lots and lots and lots of blackheads on my nose, and my skin has gotten drier so i have to use face lotion.

also, i like most burts bees products a lot. the regular burts bees lipbalm is awesome, as is the garden tomato facial toner. thats too expensive for me to buy though. apparently it removes soapy residue after you wash, returns your skin to a normal pH and prevents drying out.

any ideas for nose blackheads/large pores?

People drink a bottle of water during the day and can't understand why their face is so dry etc. I'll flat out tell them, look, drink a lot of water. From the inside out sister (or brother).

I do this with olive oil and sugar. The sugar just dissolves away and you're done.

That's actually really true...I get compliments on my skin/complexion all the time and I don't do anything special as far as soaps scubs etc. I just drink like 4-7 liters of water a day. There are many benefits to doing so

I kinda don't think people with oliy skin should ever try putting olive oil on thier face. Sugar scrubs are cool for other areas...but personally, I'm going to break out if I put olive oil on my face.:(


Sunblock, 30 or higher is essential these days. Sun damage is probably one of the biggest things that makes people look older IMO.
