This seems to have come up a few times in the past week or so, people mentioning how they've been here for forever. So I propose that in this thread everyone pre-board crash posts their actual join date (or an appoximation), along with former names they may have used.

March 2002 as insertnamehere --- for a short time i had an accent on the i and an umlaut on the a due to difficulty logging in to my original account

I believe my first avatar was a kitten inside of a sandwich, and my custom title was "cat sammich"

I went under the name Introspect and started posting sometime in 2002. The board was green when I registered. I didn't post much then and don't really post much now.

yessah.. it was (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/nastee/penisboard2000.jpg).

i joined in early 1998. i have always had the same name, although occasionally the § goes a bit funk-ay. oh, and i went WILD with a capital N.

my first thread was about how to get yourself around the metallica bannings in napster. ahahahahha.

i have a very distinct memory of a photoshopped picture of sarks made to look like she was blowing someone. meheheh. also cheering on the british coxless four in the wee hours during the sydney olympics. christ.

many good evenings spent 'watching' so graham norton with the good mr brodie. ahhh. the nineties. hahaha.

i dont know about pre-grand roayl

but it was grand royalish, then olive green, then white blue tt5b, then the current one

its only been olive, white blue, and current since ive been on the bbmb, but i frequented grand royal while that was up

if youve been on since 2000, that means it went through blue, green and purple in approximatly 2 years...

also... purple sounds like a terrible idea. how was that?

many hated the purple color and the grand royal board was so shit that i refuse to remember how it looked like

grand royalish as in the grand royal board with the bran van 3000/atdi etc bands on it which was definitely right after the green and purple board

I'm going to take a guess and say... mid-1998. I honestly have no idea... it's been a while though.

I remember the infoPOP boards. I remember when it was all Grand Royal type stuff and we even had a BS2000 board which kll was a moderator of for a while. Then the Buddyhead folks were here for a while and Sarky (read: Dorothy Woods) was totally on all their jocks. Jimmy Pringles was the most popular Buddyhead poster and one of the few to actually cross over onto our boards.

Then I feel like we made the switch to vBulletin. And I really like these boards and the layout... Blah, blah, blah. The TT5b color scheme (light blue/white-ish) and now this stuff.

Hmm, I'd say sometime between march-may 2001. I was Fred Durst, and then I was something else, and then I was afronaut, and then I was something else, and then something else again, and then I was afronaut again.

Join date as seen above. I think I joined after going to the Jam Master Jay Benefit and my Beastie interest was renewed. I believe it was the olive green board then.

ha ha, it always makes me laugh that I'm at the bottom there, with my epic crushes thread.

I was puhda33, I may have joined in 1999. I thought I was getting too addicted and I vowed to myself that I would quit after 500 posts.

but then I killed puhda33 and became sarky devotchka.

then my online identity was compromised, so I became dorothy.

I don't remember being on buddyhead that much. when I was, I just swore a lot. don't remember "being on their jocks". SS?

Nah, not really, I guess. Blame my faulty memory...

Which, obviously, needs a little tweaking. I don't know if I actually remember you being anyone other than Sarky or not... so if you joined in '99 then I don't think there's any way I could have been here mid-1998. I was most likely late '99 or possibly 2000.

Or maybe I was spot on in the first place. I really have no idea... maybe someone else would remember better, but I doubt it.

My first high jinx w/ Beastie Boys website was before I knew of the Message Board: I had just bought my 1st computer since my Coleco Adam back in the mid 80's. 1st Website I went to was Dust Brothers then I went to BB message chat w/o knowing of the concept of the Power of the BBMB way back on Dec 31ist 1999/2000 countdown creating much panic as a hand wringing the sky is falling and that the Christ would come back. I thought I was the 1st Troll

I moved to Thailand and around January of 2001 the wheels came off of my job and I once again found myself on the chat. It was Mythago that gave me the secret handshake about BBMB. And once I ventured in the Devil blew up and I created peace and harmony since that glorious day. My 1st thread was about my stance on women's rights to rent out their private parts and that Prostitution should be legal. It's been downhill since

I've always been BangkokB even when I moved to Coca Rista for a year bc I love it here-Bangkok

I'm such a n00b compared to you guys:

I started in May 2004. I had just seen the beasties live in a very small place, promoting TT5B, and that was so awesome I decided to check out their website.
I started out at Beastie General, but soon moved over too Beastie-Free.
At first I was known as Cooky Puss, but to avoid confusion I changed it to Trimm Trabb. Then due to 'relationship problems' I went on hiatus and 'secretly' came back under this name.

I miss the green boards.

Sometime in 1999, June, I think. I registered as DipDipDive, changed my name to okayplayer for a while, stopped posting in like 2002 because I didn't have internet access for a while, then re-registered as DipDipDive in 2004.

My 1st Avatar was Dolomite and I held onto it for years.

1st Avatar that I thought was nothing short of brilliant was A-Z's PeeWee Herman's Large Marge face morph. If I was A-Z I'd resurrect that Brilliant Avatar

adam_f

I never registered but visited the site from time to time until I finally became adam_f in June 2004. I can't remember what my avatar was but the Mos Def one I have now is the one I've had the longest.

I registered as a white man then was thought to be a black man and finally settled on being a white man.

I remember checking the site out in 1999 (http://web.archive.org/web/19990218145810/http://beastieboys.com/)as I started going to school and had internet access
(more than just checkin mail and stuff for 15 mins maximum at Metro's stall at Gallerian).
I remember saving "loads" of Beastie Boys pics on floppy discs
I don't think I registered until I moved back home and got my own computer, around 2001 I think...
on a very slow dial-up connection, so I wasn't here that much.
I was mainly in the BG at first, my way to BF was via Other Music, and jabumbo's threads about record collections alphabetically. :o

Oh yeah and I had the same avatar (Yauch playing acoustic guitar) until last summer or so...

I first made an account on the old one in early 2002, but mostly just lurked. Hence why I didn't re-register until like 4 months post-crash.

sercomdj01

about 2004/5 maybe...
Was sercomdj01 mostly, then trimm trabb (stolen account). Then various things as i was banned for crashing the bored.....which took ages to sort.
Also was band for posting diagrams of foreskin removal.
Then was various aliases. Can only remember Mr Happy. With Patrick the starfish as his alias. Think he upset some people can't remember. He gave presents.
Then another.
