It's a bonanza of sorts, where the prizes are so rich, there aren't any. Please, leave your distaste for poodle-rock at the door. We know you think you're better than people because of what you listen to, whomever you may be. This thread is for celebration and speculation about the bizarre circus that is the great 21st century hair-metal revival.

There's big rumblings in the world of metal. Motley Crue have a new single, I saw the Letterman performance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEk62BV02S4) and it was surprising how good the reaction was. Real old-fashioned, down-home American styled hair-farming. Plus they have the movie version of 'The Dirt' dropping. Rumours abound that Val Kilmer will be playing David Lee Roth and Christopher Walken would appear as Ozzy, neither of which make any sense as the events in the book happened more than 20 years ago. Better rumours place Johnny Knoxville as Nikki Sixx and Ashton Kutcher as Tommy Lee. In any case, this could go Motley's way.

Then there's the whole Chinese Democracy thing. Axl and Vince Neill were once feuding, and it would be lolz all around if Motley Crue got the last laugh via this revival. Given that what I've heard of Chinese Democracy would have sounded derivative in 1996, it ain't looking good for Bill Braidsley.

I guess although they're not hair metal we could count in Metallica since their whole 90s output was easily as shit as anything to come out of the glam scene. Bret Michaels has an album out too, apparently. I'm not going to download that one, though. I have some class. This thread is inspired by Sebastian Bach's solo 'Angel Down' which is pretty good, straightforward metal.

So, what do you think?
