Hey im keen to do some remix's. I do a LOT of video editing an made a little mashup using a rap verse from Black Or White by MJ. I made it using Sony Vegas which is a video editing program. Didnt do anything with the tempo just cut it up heaps an moved it around but I think id get to know how to do remix's cause its similar to video editing. Im not into making beats for acapella's just yet, just into making some mash up's so if anyone knows of any good software to do that let me know. Ill post the mash up I made on Vegas here too. Thanks, Laurie

While cleaning up the ID tags on the MP3's that get uploaded to the site, I've seen more mixes made using Sony Acid Pro 6 than anything else.
I won't/Can't go into what is or isn't wrong with your track, but it sounded good to me so far...

I still consider myself to be a bit of a novice and havent got the greatest knowledge of how everything works. ACID is definitely the easiest of all the programs i have used. Its best for making mashes and getting the vocals in sync. if you want to start making some original sounds then FL Studio and Ableton are good but thats all i know of. No doubt some of the more experienced and techy dudes will know of some other good programs.
I cant listen to Laurie's mix yet but i will have a listen when i get from work and let you know what i reckon.

i use ableton live. if im using original beats, i use reason for the beats, sometimes in conjunction with reason if i want to record instruments on it aswell.

laurie I agree that if you edit video you have a jump on using the new series of audio software since it is all very visual now ....Alot depends on how much you want to spend i think really....i use Logic Audio Pro - but Logic Express is also more than ample ... its a bitch to transfer all my plug ins and virtual instrument cracks each time i change my computer though so have been thinking about Ableton.....however you use Sony and not Final Cut so you may be more pc oriented and therefore may want to try Pro Tools or Abelton as well ... congratulations on your first mix!
ps i have the full version of that remix i did for you named merry x-mas laurie hammy ...
