its only just started
i enjoyed the first ep so will probably continue with it.
there are only 7 eps anyway.
plus you'll notice that ziggy and that westeren district cop with the fucked up haircut are in it from the wire are in it.
and i'm sure the rolling stone reporter is one of the dudes from weird science - the tv series
ziggy??? of all the people to reuse they reuse ziggy??? is he less annoying, at least?
anyway this is something i've been meaning to watch. i saw "from the makers of the wire" in the advertisement and decided i had to watch it even before i knew what it was. good to hear that it's good

this looks good, but my money is on "The Pacific" due in 2009
i've started watching this as well, it's pretty good. it's not as good as the wire, but what is?
one question, is it based on a true story? i know it's based on a book, but is that based on a true story? or is it mostly fictional? i just ask because it all seems almost too fucked up to be true, in terms of "we keep randomly killing civilians" and "all of our officers are cowboys/stupid/stupid cowboys"
i realize i could just google this or something but i still have 2 episodes left and i don't want to spoil anything.
anyway, fiction or no, i like it a lot. it's kind of creepy though; one of the guys, sgt. colbert, looks exfuckingactly like a guy i know, he even sounds like him a little. it isn't him, but he's just his twin, it's uncanny. so every time i see him (and you see him a lot) i'm like "dude what are you doing in iraq? get out of the humvee, you're gonna die!"
also, ziggy isn't as annoying as he was in the wire, so that's a plus. he's downright charismatic, actually

isn't it based on an embedded reporter's observations on the start of the invasion of iraq?
i wanna try some marine issue pound-cake
