My favorites came from the Check Your Head, Ill Communcation Erra. The singles/EPs from back then had a lot of b-side tracks instead of just having instrumentals and remixes (your typical hip hop single has the album version, radio version, instrumental, and maybe a remix or accapella). If you're not a DJ the b-sides are usually more appealing than instrumentals and whatnot (althouth I'd love to have instrumentals and accapellas for some of those tracks.)

The Beasties put out some b-sides that were off the wall and some that were just dope tracks that didn't end up on the album. Track down the original singles if you can cause they have cool artwork and because sometimes the bootlegs are shitty recordings (they play back at the wrong speed sometimes or they aren't copied well).

Check out the Jimmy James, Pass the Mic, Whatcha Want singles for sure. They aren't that expensive. Here's a link to Pass the Mic for less than $8.00

The Get It Together/Sabotage and Sure Shot singles are also good but they start to get more remix heavy and there are a ton of different versions that start to show up.

The Love American Style EP and Exciting Evening at Home with Shadrach EPs that came out during the Paul's Boutique era are also dope. They have some crazy dub versions of Shake your Rump (titled "33% God"), Hey Ladies ("Diss Yourself in 89 (Just do It)"), and Shadrach ("And What You Give Is What You Get") The Shadrach EP also has some funny b-sides. The only thing with the Paul's Boutique era singles is that the most common format (by far) was vinyl, so if you don't have a record player or don't want a tape version you might opt for a bootleg. Also, the some Japanse presses of the Paul's Boutique CD have 33% God and Diss Yourself in 89 added to the end.

If you go back to the License to Ill you won't find much unless you're looking for instrumentals. If you go back before License to Ill there's some really good shit (She's on It, Rock Hard EP) but you need to get the vinyl for the official releases.

Anyway, there's a lot of good shit out by the Beasties that didn't end up on the albums. Do yourself a favor and track down the original singles though cause they're cool and they usually have the best sound quality.
