DMC, of legendary rap group Run-DMC, has been hospitalized.

The rapper was admitted to a New Jersey hospital on Thursday after suffering from pain and swelling in his right arm.

Upon his arrival, doctors discovered two major bloodclots.

That sounds kind of serious.

He was scheduled to have surgery on Monday.

We hope he will be up and performing again soon.

Los Angeles (E! Online) - Darryl McDaniels—the rap progenitor who put the DMC in Run-DMC—has been admitted to a New Jersey hospital, where he is expected to undergo surgery to remove two major blood clots later today, publicist Tracey Miller confirmed to E! News.

The rapper had been suffering from pain and swelling in his left arm. The pain became so intense he went to the hospital, where doctors discovered the blockages.

It's unclear how long the 44-year-old will remain in the hospital, but the unexpected sick-bay stay forced him out of a planned appearance at the AVP Beach Vollyeball Tournament scheduled to take place in Brooklyn tomorrow and air live on NBC.

Just last week, the now solo star gave a well-received performance at Massachussetts' Becket Bowl, a fundraising event benefiting the Josh Beckett Foundation, which supports community programs that aim to improve the health and well-being of disadvantaged kids.

If Reverend Run ever wanted to call in a favor with the big man upstairs, now might not be a bad time.

Rev Run has been abusing and exstorting DMC for years. DMC used to write all of Run's rhymes, and Run never let DMC have an equal say in the group. Run even quit/disbanded the group before JJM's death. Now Run is doing Run-DMC songs with Kid Rock, after saying the group (and the groups songs) were retired because the group couldn't go on without JJM. Rev Run is a piece of shit. If he going to help DMC, use some of that Kid Rock money to pay DMC's hospital bills, because half of that should have been DMC's anyway, you fat bastard!

an impartial view is needed to determine who wrote what. I dont know much about their relationship but i know it looks like DMC got the shitty end of the stick. I hope he recovers . You could definitely tell who was in charge when i saw them play towards the end of things. Run was barking orders at everybody. I think its easy to tell who was the talented one but i dont think you can deny Run his part in that band. But he has gone right down the dumper, i nearly cried when i saw this piece of awfulness.
