Turns out that UK citizens have been secretly tracked by Bluetooth signals from thier mobiles and laptops.

If they do it in the UK - you can guarantee they've used it in the US, Canada and most or Europe.

Thoughts?

In China, everyone has a cell phone, and whenever you leave your city to travel to a different city, you get a text that tells you local points of interest, restaurants, and such. Basically a thinly veiled way of the Chinese government saying "We know where you are, We're tracking you".

You'd be nuts if you didn't believe the US Gov't also uses this technology.

That'd be difficult for them to do to me, as I have bluetooth turned off on both my phone and laptop.

You may have it turned to "do not broadcast" so other mobiles / cells can't see your ID, but there is a difference.

If your cell is bluetooth enabled ( as in installed ) then it still sends info containing your cell details.
