The "You Fail" fad has got to end.

I can tolerate most internet fads, but this one really bothers me.

It wasn't too bad until I went to the Mets-Phillies game Wednesday Night, and every time someone on the Phillies made an out, this kid
sitting behind me would stand up and yell "FAIL!" or "EPIC FAIL!" if the player struck out.

By the 4th inning, I wanted to throw him from the upper deck.

I would be more inclined to say that the trend of "annoying kids" needs to end.

yeah, i've never really heard anyone actually say that stuff out loud before. unless they were saying it about themselves and spilling something all over. and even then, usually its just a party foul spilling beer.

I think that's going too far. It's just another form of slang, only of the internet persuasion. If you frequent the internet often, it's bound to happen that you come across these fads, and more so, if you take part in social networking sites and communities. Besides, it's just light-hearted fun. But, I think you mean when people use those internet fads outside of the internet. In that case, I can understand. It is a little odd. I suppose, if you use it around people who understand internet fads, it can be funny, though.

Let me ask you this, do you ( or any of us) get annoyed by regular slang we all use in our every day lives? Such as "douche bag".

I always considered it as slang, OK maybe not slang, but a fad, surely. Yet everybody uses the phrase.

Epic fail is being overused, you're absolutely right. For those of us who use it sparingly, it's being used up by d-bags.
