Not really...Buddhism like any religion has sects...so as is human nature there will be disagreements between said sects. The Dalai Lama essentially is just the head of one sect, and spiritual leader of one particular country.
Add to this Buddhism's inherent spirit of inspection and questioning and you'll get people who disagree with His Holiness.
It's probably just Mara fuckin' around. Silly demons. :p:p:p:p
i agree, this is very ridiculous. it would be like christians protesting against the pope

The way I understand it, The Dalai Lama is more than just a Spiritual leader of a sect of a particular religion. He's also the Political leader of Tibetan buddhists living in exile of Tibet.
I've never heard of Tibetan Buddhists having different sects, similar to Christianity with Catholics, Protestants, Baptists, Angelicans, Augustinians, ect.
The Pope doesn't rule over any particular nation the way the Dalai Lama does.

Never considered it.

.
No, there are different sects in Tibetan Buddhism. He is the political leader also, sorry should have said that, but he is the head of one particular lineage. There are lineages who don't consider him their leader, spiritually. And in this case, this particular lineage disagree fundamentally with him over a certain aspect of Tibetan Buddhism.

vatican city is its own sovereign nation...and you dont have to look that far into the past to when the pope was going around the world killing women, peasants and barbaric non-believers for the sake of the church. The pope has tremendous political power, not for which governments bow down to his authority, but because hundreds of millions of people bow down to him.
