Part of it is nerve fatigue. Your brain just kind of gets so used to overriding the sensation of having to piss it sort of stops 'feeling' it anymore, if you see what I mean? Sort of like how if you moved to a new house near an airport you'd hear the plane noise for a while, but then you'd become accustomed to it and not really notice. Not exactly the same, but similar.

this has NEVER happened to me before. the other night i stayed late out at the pub and on the way home i had to pee so bad! it got so awful that i had to physically hold it with my hand. that was the best feeling pee i've taken in my recent history.
