I like how the mainstream media jumped on that song as an excuse to feign outrage over... *gasp* rap music.

Are you saying it's not offensive?
You're like the Democrats version of Rush Limbaugh.

I don't really care one way or the other. It's Ludacris' song and not Obama's and that's pretty much the end of it. But honestly, there's nothing in it that's not contained in other modern-day mainstream rap songs that 15 year old kids devour so why act like it's all new?

You know, I started to get upset and I was thinking to myself
"Self, how could people be OK with such a lack of respect such as Droppin Soap is here in this thread"...and then I realize that you're Canadian and therefore your obviously warped opinion is meaningless in the US Presidential race and I'm reassured again.

When you have nothing else, better go for the old "shut it, foreigner" line.
You really know how to pwn us all, Rob.

Who's "all" ? You were the only person who replied to this up until Bob came in here and that comment had nothing to do with him. Nice try trying to gather everyone on your side like a little kid hiding behind his Mommy's skirt.
It's not about PWNing anyone, it's about being able to be objective about your candidate which you clearly aren't capable of. I doubt you'd be as willing to sweep a song like this under the rug if it were pro McCain.
It's OK for someone to say "Let's paint the White House Black", but if someone made a song about "Let's keep the White House White" you'd probably blast it as racist, which pretty much makes you a hypocrite. You may not have a problem with the things that were said about Hillary, McCain, and even Bush, but I do. Even though I may not agree with Bush I still believe there's a level of respect society owes the office, and any public official for that matter. I'm not OK saying things like "Hillary's an irrelevant Bitch" "Bush is mentally handicapped" and "McCain belongs in a wheel chair" publicly. It's wrong and if similar things were said about Obama I'd say they were wrong too.
I mean at least the hippie protest songs of the 60's had a modicum of respect for the President.
It's clear to me that this place is inhabited by a bunch of campus bleeding hearts and is in no way reflective of the real world. This song isn't buying Obama one single vote, it'll do the opposite. So go ahead and send everyone you know a link to it.

sazi directed this at you in a different thread, but it more than bears repeating when it comes to you and everyone else in this forum who values intelligent discussion without juvenile name-calling:
yes, ignore the facts (http://beastieboys.com/bbs/showpost.php?p=1589533&postcount=13) regarding mccain (http://beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=85476) and reply with some off hand, throw away sarcastic smart ass remark.
And who is "all", you ask? Yes, you are particularly adversarial towards me (why you have it out for me is a mystery), but you direct the exact same vitriol towards a number of other posters at any given time (yeahwho, QueenAdrock, afronaut, and others), so when I say "all" I'm referring to you and your conduct in general, not just this specific incident.
There are so many of us on this board who wish to cut through the daily bullshit and actually have a worthwhile discussion and all you have time for is name-calling, personal attacks, and superficial, personality-based aspects on the presidential race that will do NOTHING to further anyone's understanding of the issues at hand. Seriously, you're discussing a Ludacris song? Who the fuck cares? The media does, apparently, but no one else.
We may be "campus bleeding hearts," but you're also the beer swilling frat boy who never shows up to classes, flunks their first semester and is put on academic probation for the year. My views (and those of many others I'm pretty sure) is based off of serious research and sources that actually attempt to go outside the sensationalism of the media. If that makes me some kind of academic with "warped opinions" then I am very proud to wear that label. If it means that I am not RobMoney, then all the better. Go ahead, call me foreign, call me homosexual, because those things will easily beat being called RobMoney. No contest. (y)

That's pretty much every regular poster in this forum, with the exception of Doc, and you're all Obama supporters and I'm not. Since you've been nominated to speak for the group I'll just respond by asking if any of you have ever been adversial to me?

Tell you what, anytime I make a thread that you think isn't worthy of discussion, just don't fucking respond, problem solved. Sorry if I don't meet your criteria for discussing politics on a band website. It's not that I don't have anything better to respond to your uber-liberal POV, it's just that I don't think you deserve any better response than "your opinion doesn't matter anyway because your Canadian". This Luda song is disgusting regardless of who you're supporting.

Ya think?
